OK, I've loved this song for well over a year and listened to it many times. This time sounded different. Maybe because I've been wading about hip-deep in vampire lore lately (writing project). So, imagine this sung from a vampires POV. I am *not* saying that's what the song is, but just listen to it that way: Give me your eyes I need sunshine (Because, obviously, how long has it been?) ... Your blood ... (Self explanitory) ... *Fight* the scary day (I always heard that as "Fight the scary day," as it written on other websites. But a "scary day"? Puzzled over that one until this interpretation.) ... I'd share a life and you'd share a life (Hmmm) ... I'd take you where nobody knows you And nobody gives a damn (Hiding, secrecy) Like I said, 99.9% sure this is not what Wolf Parade had in mind. But, Ionno, kinda fun to think about old songs in new ways. |
