| Dark Tranquillity – The Treason Wall Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I think DT are saying that organized religion holds people back. Why believe what's fed to us, without even questioning it? Why believe in a God when you can believe in *yourself*? | |

| In Flames – The Mirror's Truth Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Anders commented on the meaning behind "The Mirror's Truth" for an article in Kerrang magazine: "It's partly based on my opinions regarding the environmental situation we're facing, but that kind of morphed into an interpretation of how people seem to be scared of confrontation these days. People would rather play it safe and not speak their mind about certain things because they're afraid of someone challenging them, so this song is about that and how strange I find it." |

| In Flames – Disconnected Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Anders revealed the meaning behind "Disconnected" in Kerrang magazine: "When I'm in a tour bus, people can't see me but I can see them, and I see so many sad faces. People go from A to B without trying to break out of that routine, and sometimes I see people like that I want to know what they're thinking. I need to feel alive and sometimes it seems like other people dont feel that way." |

| In Flames – Abnegation Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Go to In Flames' Myspace, they put up a new verison of Abnegation, and it's easier to hear the lyrics. Having heard this... This is what I hear in the chorus. I am almost 100% sure that it's correct... "I clench you, It's torn and I'd rather not live here anymore." I think "but are deceased" is actually "we are DISEASED" too. I'm certain about that one. Yep, Felidire, I think it is definitely "We are the scavengers". As I said, have a listen to the new version... |

| Scar Symmetry – 2012 - The Demise of the Sun Lyrics | 18 years ago |

The Maya calender ends in 2012 and there are a lot of conspiracy theories focused on 2012 being "the end"... just theories though - nothing more IMO - unless the Maya's knew something that we don't. Nice song - great drumming. |

| This song is beautiful. Everything from the instrumental section in the middle, to the key-change in the final chorus... | |

My favourite period of In Flames, Colony/Clayman. Only... for... the... weak. |

| Scar Symmetry – The Illusionist Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
This is not the best Scar Symmetry IMO, but it is probably the most accessible. The lyrics talk of an oracle, someone with power and ability above everyone else, but the song finishes with "In everyone!". Like minus_zer0 said, it's like he wants people to have faith in themselves. I think the message is that we all have potential to succeed, it's "in everyone". |

| Scar Symmetry – Slaves To The Subliminal Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Excellent song. One of my favourites. It appears to be about the way we live today, this song concentrates on the negative side of things nowadays... This line, "All we know is what they show", suggests that we are living blindly, only seeing what "they" want us to see. Can we assume "they" means the government? |
