I think it's great that a band can cause this many people to ponder their lyrics. They're not overtly masked - just slurred enough that it's difficult to know exactly what they are all the time. The more I listen to this album, the more lyrics I uncover, and they're ALWAYS clever. It's like solving a riddle. By the way "Someone send a runner through the weather that I'm under for the feeling that I lost today" is such an incredible line. I hope it's what he's actually saying. |

This song is wonderful, I can't stop listening to it. However, it also makes me a bit sad... Doesn't it seem like Panda wants to leave AC? I've been hearing it in his lyrics for a while now, especially since Person Pitch. And he always looks so gloomy on stage. I hope he doesn't, but it sure seems like he wants to "move on." Also, I specifically remember hearing the line "you and me can't keep doing this" repeated somewhere in this song though I can't remember exactly where. Sorry if anybody has said this already, I had to get my thoughts out before I read all the other comments. |

It seems to me that Avey is singing about being in Animal Collective. Now I think it's alright we're together Now I think that's alright yeah Now I think it's the best you've ever played it Now I think that's alright yeah Now I think it's alright to feel inhuman Now I think that's alright yeah Now I think it's alright to sing together Now I think that's alright yeah All of those lyrics could be interpreted as Avey's thoughts on performing and recording with AC. (Also the part about Brooklyners.) Maybe he's commenting on how it's been seven years and he's stil happy playing with them. Or perhaps their was some turmoil in the band that's over now. Overall, it seems like he's saying there's a lot of depressing things happening, but for some reason it's kind of ok; sort of like many AC songs. Just my thoughts...what do you think? |
