I am obsessed with this song for some reason now even though I've had it for a while now. I just think it's so REAL and RAW and beautiful. Sometimes when I listen to it, I want to cry. Other times, I just want to laugh, because love is crazy and for some reason it seems the type of love that lasts the longest is the unrequited one. |

The first line made me think of religion. People in your family who truly believe what they do and practice it on a daily basis sometimes try to push that onto you. AshleyNicole, the lyrics up there sound right to me. Yours don't make sense, because the song isn't about guys doing girls wrong. It's about the girls being jerks in this one.
I heard this on the radio and had to get it. It's original and has sad lyrics but an upbeat tempo that makes you want to just vibe with it. |

I thik the great escape is suicide. I think it's that person or thing that can make you feel like you're not so ordinary, your life is so mundane, you're exciting, you're alive. I agree that it's about feeling down, but I don't think it's necessarily as low as depression. It's just feeling like everything in your life is all the same. The way I see it, the great escape can be anything. For some people it might be suicide, but others it's a good movie or book.

This song really reminds me of my relationship with my mum. I waste time so much but it's like I can't be bothered to spend time with her because "[she is] wearing me down." I think it's about a relationship, though, any kind that has one person putting more into it than the other. Even though she's not putting in as much, she never wants the other to go. |
