Somaland is right, this song is about her record company. Specifically, about them not marketing her anymore. She's a recording industry brat, and this is another middle-finger up right at the recording company. Of course, any Tori song lyrics are laden with references, so many people project what they want onto the meanings. |

| This song is so epic. The visuals this song gives are of a lover returning home from a battle in a far off land. | |

This song is so vague to me in parts so I could be pretty wrong, but here's my translation of the story she's telling here. "don't say morning's come don't say it's up to me if I could take 25 minutes out of the record books." This is the character, a young man, waking up with a man he had sex with. He regrets sleeping with this guy and would like to reverse time to change it. "sugar he brings me sugar i've been gone for miles now" Sugar represents his ideal life, the best. The young man wants nothing but the best, and is searching for an ideal relationship. So he tries to fill the need by sleeping with many men. "and you know, and I know i don't know me very well" He is aware that he's not clear on what he wants yet. "and I know, and you know if they found me out.' These lines refer to his family or friends who don't know he's gay. He can't confide in them, and lends to his loneliness "sugar he brings me sugar and all the robins bring they bring many things but... sugar" She ends the song by saying that this is another dead-end night for the character. He realizes that the men he sleeps with will bring him many things, but it can't bring him happiness in the end. |

I love this song! It's so well written. I don't know if she's committing suicide like someone said. I think she feels stuck in a rut and depressed in her life, probably in a long-term lifeless relationship. She's reflecting on how she got to the point in her life where she's so unhappy. But by asking herself "what now" she realizes that she just forgot to notice the beautiful things that surround her regularly. |
