Nas – I Can Lyrics 18 years ago
The purpose of this song was to show how other rap songs and just music in general are promoting destructive behavior, which is causing problems with the youth's self esteem in their succes. It is for this reason that Nas ends the song with the line "Save the music y'all"

Jack Johnson – No Other Way Lyrics 18 years ago
this song means a lot to me. The things that I am experiencing in my life right now seem to fall into line with this song. I think that this song is about how there are many choices in one's life. The choices that we make are going to shape our lives. Sometimes people can acquire a cognitive dissonance, which means that their thoughts and beliefs don't match up with their actions. It causes an inner conflict. I took this song to mean that they are having inner conflicts and can't seem to figure out the world. They know that if they ever figured out the answers to the world and their problems, they would tell eachother. This song, to me, was about being lost and confused about the world. When he says that resolve is just a concept, I think he means that nothing is ever really over. Nothing is ever really better. Nothing is ever really fixed. The reference to sleeping also makes sense to me. Sleep is seen as an escape and sometimes the only way to get away from the world and your thoughts is to sleep.

I think that the length of the song has no relevence. If you really listen to the song and get lost in it, you don't notice. This song is amazing in every way. It's intro takes you in and it's end leaves you satisfied. This song builds you up, drops you and then builds you up again. There is so much emotion in it. It gives me chills.

sometimes a funny song is just a funny song.

and wikipedia? haha! it is WIKIPEDIA. it could be wrong. just because it says it on one website that people write themselves, does not make it true. Although, I do feel that the childhood thing is correct.

System of a Down – Psycho Lyrics 18 years ago
this song is completely obvious in it's meaning and many people have already pointed it out. It is about psycho fans who do coke and think they have to be a ho. yeah....it is not glorifying drugs. it is not puting them down. it is just saying that drugs is not needed for that situation. this song is not about the government or whatever the hell else some people said. I don't even remember, it was so ridiculous. oh, and to the person(too lazy to check) who said "why does it matter if you enjoy the song?,"if the lyrics did not matter, they would just be saying random crap like jello, cookies, monkeys, donuts. once you find song lyrics that you think are amazing, you will understand the importance of them.

Third Eye Blind – Losing a Whole Year Lyrics 18 years ago
I think the touching everything with a velvet glove was just a metaphor to show how rich and snobby she had been. oh, and the thing about prozac, he said that because prozac hurts your sex drive.

Third Eye Blind – Losing a Whole Year Lyrics 18 years ago
This song is not about Great Gatsby. When I read Great Gatsby I remember thinking that I had experienced every emotion the author expressed. I was able to relate the book to myself. The songwriter may have quoted The Great Gatsby to express the connection and his feelings, but the song is not about a book. If a songwriter wrote a song about a book, that would be kind of sad.
I took this song to be about, obviously, a man and woman's relationship. The woman didn't recieve enough love from her father which made her rebellious. She met him and saw him as an opportunity to fulfill her rebellious nature. They had sex "all day", everyday. Then she found other people and was "convinced that she found her place" with them. She felt that she fit in. She no longer needed him in order to do the things that she wanted to do. They stopped having sex as much and he realized the fact that she had used him. He saw that she had never listened to a "goddamn thing he ever said." He had wasted an entire year being with a girl who didn't love him.
