| The Weepies – Comfort Lyrics | 18 years ago |

This song is knd of rare. I've only heard a live recording of it. I think this song is a dedication from a mother to a beloved child. Its sweet. Its a mother talking enamouredly of her baby, wanted to protect it and comfort it through all the time. Its very cute and intimate |

| Nelly Furtado – Try Lyrics | 18 years ago |

I think that also, alluding from the video clip, it seems that she has been thrown into a life she finds it hard to handle. "then i see you standing there, wanting more from me, and all i can do is try" she's genuinely trying to please the guy she's been put into this trying situation with. she wantes to make him happy but she's finding her life difficult to control. (ps. just to make it clear, this is not an angst emo interpretation. i dont mean she's finding the whole journey of life too difficult to bear.) I like tot hink of this song as a young girl whose thrown away a wealthier life to be with the guy she's fallen in love with who is quite poor and now she's trying to adjust to a lesser life and still be happy witht he guy she loves and she's finding that they may have both made a mistake taking such a rash and romantic risk!! |

I also think this song is about a girl leaving her childhood and going into adolescence. ~~~ However, I think this song could be a story of a girl who was raped as a child and is still suffering for it in her teens. "And Katrina feels, with the edge of a knife," I think this suggests that katrin began to physically harm herself in order to feel. "through the fall that cuts her open." I believe the fall could be her rape "And she dont cry...she only smiles." but she pretends she's okay "Gone too far, the dolly's cry turn back" Katrina lpses into a deep depression, harming herself and the "dollys" (her self from her childhood) tell her to stop before she does something like commit suicide. "But Katrina lives, because trina knows where the dollys go " Katrina survives because she wants to get to the "dark places in the garden" where the dollys go. The dark place could simply mean a symbolic place where she can hide. Hide from her thoughts/ memories or certain people. The chois eof the word "garden" instead of, say, jungle clearly means that this is a story about a girl in her home, in her garden where children should be able to play, but in this case Katrina probably saw her garden as a refuge from her home. I love this song, I love the desperation and simplicity of ella's voice. |

| The Weepies – Take It From Me Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
"What can I compare you to, when everything looks like you?" I LOVE that line. It sums up love when you're obsessed with someone. Everything reminds her of him so theres actually nothing left to be able to compare to his magficence. There's just him. Beautiful. (lol. to bohaha_88: I joined just to be able to comment Weepies songs too...) |

| The Weepies – Nobody Knows Me At All Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
its amazing how wonderful, abstract and poetic the weepies' lyrics are. you feel like you can get lost in them. its such a meaningful song and then theres the phrase "happy as a clam", which reminds you that its a simple song about a subject which should be so easy to establish, but is not. i believe this is a song about identity; the narrator belongs to herself and herself only. She is content with who she is and thats all that matters to her. it is a song which celebrates individuality: "there's nobody like you" and encourages listener's to accept themselves for who they are and what they're all about. |
