As someone who has lost the love of their life i can tell you this song is about love,the pain that comes with loving someone ,and wanting to know the truth no matter how painful it may be. the opening to the song doesnt neccesarily mean the two have split just that she didnt wish to keep on living that way and that she HAD to talk to him about the issue. as with most relationships there is something that lies just beneath the surface of the relationship that sometimes the two ppl involved dont want to bring up or discuss but know its there.
