Pretty awesome song... you guys have pretty much sumed up the meaning. About the communism discussion, I don't think it will ever work, at least in the form demonstrated in the past century. The reason for this is that it is based on the idea of equality and rights of all people, but to make sure that people stay equal, there has to be heavy govornment moderation, and to achieve this, you need authority figures. Inevitably, these authority figures will become corrupt, and then guess what? People aren't equal any more! The borgeoise (spelling?) have returned, but now in the form of leaders who pretend to support socialism to further their disguise.
HOWEVER, that does not by any means make our (the U.S.) system acceptable. We are leaning ever more towards the facist end of the scale, and our liberties are being stripped from us quietly and covertly (in a manner that I think, with further study, would prove disturbingly similar to the previous rise of Facist dictators in democratic societies... for example, a guy called Hitler...)
And this isn't even to mention how much we covertly oppress poor nations around the world... a discussion of this could go on for pages.
So the best type of govornment, I think, would be a socialized democracy, because despite the fact that corruption inevitably takes hold in all forms of govornment, democracy can limit this pretty effectively if the power is given to the laws, not the individual govornment officials, as was originally intended in the good ol' U.S.A.
Why can't everybody just get along? :D |

| Avenged Sevenfold – Seize The Day Lyrics

Well, I've always heard Avenged Sevenfold on the radio and thought they were all right, but was kind of turned off to them by the fact that all the other kids who listen to them at my school are emo idiots who think they're hardcore. (Not that all emo's are idiots, mind you- but most of the ones at my school are. My take on the whole emo thing-- the music is fine, and the emotions are perfectly justified, but to put emotion in a neat little box and sell defeats the whole purpose, and is sadly typical.) But anyway... I got some Avenged Sevenfold songs off of my Art teacher's computer the other day, and since then have been listening to them over and over. I may have to buy some of their CD's. And this song.... completely kickass and yet depressing at the same time. It has all of the emotion of emo without all the cliché. |

What I love about Linkin Park is that they have songs like this, which are mostly to angrily screaming about shit, and songs like Valentines Day, My December that are really intelligent and well crafted music. They have the best of both worlds. |

Rage Against the Machine is not anarchist, they are extremely left-wing. They don't like the democrats, but I would assume they hate republicans even more.
Also: about Saddam's regime, the US originally supported him! Rage don't think that he was better for the Iraqis than the US, but that it's our fault he was there in the first place, and also that the invasion wasn't really to help the Iraqi people but for profit. But anyway, this song is from '96! It isn't about the Iraq war! |

It's pretty cool how they copied the thing from step up. However, it isn't as good as the first cure for the itch. And the spelling on all the reanimation songs is kind of annoying. |

jtherlow- this isn't bling bling rap at all. Bling bling rap is the "Cash, jewlrey, pimpin', gangsta" type of rap. This song is not bling bling rap. Neither is it meaningless. It's about how the record companies and "fake" artists churn out manufactured hits "all for a fast buck." |

"All I can say is shut the fuck up, get a job, get a bf/gf, get promoted, get married, get promoted again, have kids because now you can afford it, raise the kids well so the next generation doesn't act JUST LIKE YOU, and then die"
Fuck you! I won't do what you tell me!
Also, Rage Against the Machine aren't anarchists, they're socialists which is quite a bit different. |

This song is the pwnage! But people seem so narrow-minded when they say how minutes to midnight is bad. It's good that they aren't coming out with the same stuff over and over again. |

Yeah. If you don't like a song and point out WHY it isn't good then that's ok, but just coming in to a random song and saying how much the band sucks is pointless. |

Resisting the communism? What are you on?
It's basically just about their music. The "put a label on a life" part might be about how modern culture is always telling you to be unique, but punishing you if you are. Anyway, it's a good song. Anyone who hasn't heard the original one from the hybrid theory ep should download the whole ep right now (or if you're rich, buy it :D ). All the songs are really good. |

Also, forgot to post this, but the lyrics omitted the ending part... it goes something like "Akira... Mr. Hahn... and... Hybrid Theory" |

Really cool song, I like it even more than the remix.
Uberchicken wtf? Real fans do want their bands to be popular. Popular as in appreciated and successful. It isn't good when bands become sellouts and all kinds of posers pretend to like them just because they're popular, but any "true" fan would want to be heard. |

How the hell is this supposed to be a "confession of how bad they are"? Even the messed up lyrics you posted couldn't possibly be interpreted as a confession. Also, if they were bad, why would they make a song about it.
Anyway, this is my favorite part of And One, I think it's cool how the track continues but it becomes a whole other mini-track. The track's generally accepted title is "Cryptic" and i'm pretty sure it's just Mike freestyling. |
