i think its kinda like magnito says. the song i think is talking about how Death is lurking this girl (for whatever reason) and how on this one night hes taking her. its also about how this girl has been through a lot of really tough shit and tonight Death is finally going to take her to a better place. id venture to say its based on a girl slug really knows, and shes went through some horrible shit, and is probably hooked on drugs and hopeless, and hes talking about how death is catching up to her. |

I finally understand this all now. Firstly, the last three songs are indeed connected as everyone figured. Also, as some said, this song is about suicide by jumping off of something. There's a few things i found by looking at the song "all the best cowboys have daddy issues" though. Firstly, he couldn't be jumping off a church he must be jumping off a condo building or something like that, because he "climbed the stairs to the top floor and paid the super to keep open the door" Also, he's depressed and such, by his family life mostly. His dad probably walked out ("i havent seen him in years") and his mom was most likely not a suitable parent ("i havent loved her in years") He gets really drunk and starts thinking of his sins and the sins of his parents and i believe his sin is weak faith. He is embarassed by his messed up family and wants the "grave to be marked unkown." In conclusion, i would like to say that i do think the whole album is about Buddy's life search for something reliable and not being able to rely on his family/girlfriend/religion. At the end he takes the plunge and dies (goes into something new/new way of thinking most likely his musical career.) |
