like most other people say this songs about addiction to alcohol. my thoughts on the lines "i shudder to think of the consequence its blasphemy simple and true the tragic protaganist torments convincing myself again" my thoughts on that is that he doesn't like to think about the consequence of drinking alcohol, and he knows that it's bad to do. a protaganist is a main character so he keeps trying to convince himself that the alcohol before and after he drinks it is the same stuff and it has its ups and downs and its a big circle of problems, etc. so he should quit. that's what makes sense to me |
