I see it a little different... kinda as a big 'screw you' to religion. Maybe christianity specifically. Like, the first few lines make me think of a priest who rapes children. The priest would be the angel with a phallic smile. The child is born again into this deformed religion... so parents are warned to lock them up. Also, while religious people look forward to death, they actually shouldn't because it's all a fallacy and there's "no glory among the dead" I don't really know... I'm not one to be all that good at decoding lyrics, but for this one I just see vampires as a metaphor for something more meaningful. Great song regardless of the meaning. |
