| Chad Vangaalen – Shave My Pussy Lyrics | 13 years ago |

‘Shave My Pussy’ is a coruscating, heartfelt and simple song, noticeable among the dense walls of sound over the rest of the album. And it took just two hours to write. Chad says, “It just had the best story. It’s obviously a really simple song, not much instrumentation going on. So it was really easy for me to capture like a raw idea. And it’s not even really developed beyond its initial state, which I find awesome. It was just a shockingly sad moment in my mind, and I just happened to press record. I was just picking up groceries, and had this moment at the checkout where I felt this woman was being completely alienated by all the magazines, all the collagen-injected magazines around her. So I ran home with that idea in mind.” -From an interview |

Lyrics from Dawn: Flame upon flame upon flame Reaching out to wrap around my reaching arm That's how life got to be among my friends I wanted her so bad I waited 'round in a burning-down house Hoping for phone calls Totally scalded and scarred I woke up in a pile of ash Grave beyond grave beyond grave Stretching out to horizons on all sides That's how life got to be among my friends Dead or alive I buried them all I wanted her so bad As revenge for my burning I burned the whole world *Note: stanzas/line breaks ambiguous And was warm for a little while |

| Frog Eyes – Paul's Tomb Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| The first time he sings the first verse, "revitalization" is "realization", "wind" is definitely "freeze", though it may be alternated with "breeze", and "crawl down" is "break on down to" (only the first time, again). | |

| Sunset Rubdown – Child-Heart Losers Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Also, I think "Why so many many many many many violins?" may be something about the complexity and almost maximalism of the music, like self-mockery... | |
