I think the whole chorus kinda references it too a bit: This ringing in my ears won't stop I've got a red Japanese teapot I've got a pen but I lost the top I've got so many things you haven't got The ringing in my ears part I'm not sure of, maybe he's heard it all before. I got a Red Japanese Teapot ---> referencing communism? I got a pen but I lost the top means to me that the leaders of the nations are ruling but forgot about their morality and are unjust. And obviously, Masons and the bunch have alot more than you have so lol, its obvious. Just felt like mentioning the chorus cause everytime I listen to this song, I always think about those mentioned above. *Have a good one, God bless ya :). |

Um Dubtiger, yeah it DOES sound like you're a douchebag. Don't promote on a song-meaning site! What the hell man. |

This was about 9/11? Woah, I thought it was about Pearl Harbor cause he's from Hawaii. Wow, I was wrong. Good job on the info hunt guys, I would have never known that at all. Thanks :) Such a great song. Ah at least I was kind of close with an event that involved planes and destruction and the anguish arising from it. Oh well, my bad lol. |

A clear reference throughout the whole song is that carnival in Europe (She lives on the borderline, that they call Hazy) That's actually a street in the festival. It's called the Burning Man as others have pointed out. But the fact that they bring this into the song makes its meaning more deeper for its a festive tone isn't made known musically but lyrically. It's a song about getting drunk and really taking the trip to the great beyond lol. Obviously a Stoner Jam but ah what can you say, good song anyway. |

Though 2tonsoup, I see what you mean about the Floyd reference. Their bassist usually makes comments on how he loved the song Echoes and the ideals are somewhat related (talking about first verse of Echoes). |

Yeah I agree, wtf are you talking about 2tonsoup? Have you ever heard of Spell-Check? Hell even Firefox has it built in bro. Anyway. This song is clearly about meeting another person in a distant land. It also brings another notion that all that they have seen, heard, or even though about would be taken away instantly. And at the same time, he would give things to start anew. A new place, if you will, to begin life anew and start from the ground up. That's my interpretation. I know a little loose but ah what can you say, I am trying to decipher lyrics I didn't make myself lol. Hope you enjoyed it all. Wolfmother's a good band that's bringing it all back and doing what people have been waiting for: to bring back the old and make it anew. |
