Well i think this song is the about something different then from what you guys said. I think it is about a guy who doesnt want be with the girl, because he thinks he isnt worthy. He is searching for someone who has issues, as if he doesn't want to taint her of something. She HAS broke his skin, as in she has made an impact to him. she has filled his scars with understanding. SHE really wants him as he does her, but he has too many issues and feels that they wil impact her negative. for the most part in the song he is arguing with himself; debating whether or not he should be with her. "So help me take this all away You gotta help me take this all away Please help me take this all away And bleed like me So help me take this all away You gotta help me take this all away Please help me take this all away And bleed like me" I think that right here he is saying that she could make him better by "bleeding like him", or having scars. but she doesnt have scars and he does. i keep going in circles. lol. IMN means "Its My noose." you are reading the line: "This life, IMN" read the previous lines with it, "No one No one could ever understand My life, IMN" he is saying no one could ever understand his life, then goes on to say "it's my noose," meaning you dont understand my life so you cannot tell me i cant kill myself, dont tell me what the fuck to do. Mark Chavez was kicked out of Adema for being a crack-addicted alcoholic. the band isnt better or worse. The somber mood of this song almost makes me think thats its about suicide. He says "I will lose my mind make it real this time To leave it all behind I won’t cry wolf Show me a sign planets will align I’m gonna blow my mind I won’t cry wolf" To me he is Saying that he will kill himself, and he isnt just saying it this time. He really wants to do it, but cant find the strength (in his Mind) to pull the trigger. he always ends up coming back home. this is just what i think, listen to it again, see if you find what im saying. i love this song, but those are the worst lyrics of it just cause they are so emo. lo. but they arent bad, its saying that he wants her to kiss him so bad that if she did kiss him, and he died because of it, he wouldnt care. because he wants that kiss sooo bad. and even if he did get that kiss and die, oh well, cause he'd die happy. this is me and my girlfriends "song" without knowing we both quored it in our Valentine's Day cards to each other. she used the line in question. lol. i used the first paragraph. but its funny cause neither of us knew the other knew the song, or even the band. cute. lol |

thats harsh M333333. i dont think a Christian rock group (New Testament) wants Christians, and potential crossovers, to believe God will banish you to hell if you dont pay Him. notice the lines that say she is good and pretty and whatever. I as an Athiest still love Skillet cause im open like that (m333333 must be the less open kind... lol). but i still try see different messages. to me (Even though Skillet might have meant to portray God talking to anyone) think its a guy talking to this girl. she obviously doesnt love herself as much as she should, and he thinks she is the best thing since sliced bread. She wants to be perfect and is unhappy with anything less and believes she is worthless, but he says that she DOES mean everything, and the world to him. and as far as the eating disorder goes aar reject girl, you are way off. i can see why you are rejected, your special ed. "No one escapes Every breath we take Dealing with our own skeletons, skeletons" you heard the word skeleton and freaked out. ever heard a proverb talking about "Skeletons in ones closet?" it means that everyone has things they have to deal with, something they dont want people to know about so they keep them hidden (like you would hide something in a closet). So he is telling her not to dwell on those things because noone can escape their past and we all have them, no one is perfect. there was not any other part of this song that even mentioned anything at all about anything that deals with a dissorder, retard. |

| I pretty much agrre with all of you and pyroguy was right too. cause this song WAS made for Mortal Kombat, but in order to make it a hit the song has to parallel lives of people outside of The Netherrealm. ie not many peoplle have been tricked into killing sub-zero. lol. so yes the point of the song from a buisiness standpoint was for MK but it also has tis to ordinary life so people other than MK geeks dont get turned off. | |

I agree with most of whats been said but i want to make another point, the song is called "Waiting," and its as if he will always, or always has been waiting. a key note is that unlike the lyrics above (i understand the need to get rid of redundancy) the last like is "and ive been fooled by the illusions in my head," which is repeaded three times. to sum it up he had a lover, did something to drive her away (to me it seem as if he dumped her, rather than a fidelity issue) and now he wants her back but she has moved on never to return. he keeps trying to be optimistic and believe she will come back but in the back of his mind he knows she wont be coming back. |

Okay, I have to disagree with the "finding himself" theory. I mean not completely... To me, this song is about being free from absolute plans. Like not having your path carved out already. Making choices as you go. Read the first ten lines: "My independence is calling my name A doubtful voice divides my faith My independence only hesitates An unsure choice I can't embrace You're gonna have to carve me, Carve me from stone Right to the bone or I'll end up alone Playing the role Of someone in control" He wants to leave the position of being in control of everything. He wants to be free, and he feels that if he is in control of everything then life is boring. hes an ex-OCD of sorts. The first lines of the ten before mentioned talk about how his "independence is calling [his] name" but its hesitating to make a choice. He needs to be completely remade so he'll get away from "playing the role > of someone in control". More lines that show this point are: Will the dice ever roll When will I ever know Will the plot ever twist Or will I still resist I've been playing the part of a lost realist To me (and the New Heritage Dictionary, lmao) a realist is "a [person] who believes that universals are real and exist independently of anyone thinking of them " and being a lost realist would be someone that expects that something wont happen unless it's planned out; or, a little less literally, it wont go well at all. He's saying will i ever take a chance ("roll the dice") and will anything crazy, or different ("plot ever twist"). "Why do I rush to slow down Why do I rush to slow down everything Why do I rush to slow down" This is saying that he wants to know why he always thinks things through, too much. He's always fast to slow down and think things through instead of (CLICHE WARNING!) flying by the seat of his pants and just going for it. on another note, this is not just a great song, or a great CD. this is a gread BAND. Trapt is good in every way. They have music, and a great voice from Chris. They sound great on CD's (or MP3s for us less-than-legit people), they have great and powerfull lyrics, and they are fantastic live. i saw them in Seattle a while ago and that was the best concert ive been to. -sorry for my rant, im a little long winded.listen to it again with my veiw and see if you see it.
