I think some of this song is about older technology becoming more and more obsolete as time goes by due to constant advancing in modern technology. For example, consider the line "'cause we've found all entire dreams/of men and machines and/turned them all around/our identical hands/composing our commands". To me, it means humans are creating what they've always tried with intense speed to work towards, and that's more advanced technology. Specifically, inventing things to make our lives more easier and lazier - McDonalds in Wal-Mart, remote controls, carswith DVD players in them, phones containing internet, texting, video, music, and you name it. To further convince me, the lyrics mean that soon robots will be doing everything for us ('composing our commands') - they've replaced humans with their 'identical hands'. I have speculation on other verses, but not as much as that part of the song. |
