Yea I think this is my favorite song off the new album, but it's hard to say because the entire album is completely amazing!

Adele – I'll Be Waiting Lyrics 15 years ago
I think this one is pretty clear. I think basically they broke up and moved away from each other. Now that she has thought things over and seen more of the world, so to speak, and she knows that he was the right guy for her. Now she is ready to be back together if he will give her a chance. She is more grown-up and ready to be a better girlfriend.

Adele – He Won't Go Lyrics 15 years ago
Ah! That definitely solves the mystery. I do like that it addresses all of what is going on with the supportive partner, rather than following his journey. She's embarrassed and doesn't want anyone to see her until he is better. She doesn't want the judgement from those around her for being with someone who isn't worth the risk, in their opinions. Will he be better when he's out of rehab or will he just relapse and be a total waste of time and energy on her part?

Adele – Don't You Remember Lyrics 15 years ago
From what I understand, her boyfriend basically had enough of her antics. She loves him still and acknowledges her faults and wonders whatever happened to him. She would like him to come back because she doesn't know what the last straw was for him and she hopes he can remember why he loved her in the first place so he'll return.

Adele – Turning Tables Lyrics 15 years ago
This seems to be about a very volatile, and possibly abusive, relationship. Basically he's a bit of a sociopath in saying that he's been this fantastic boyfriend and "giving" her everything. He blames everything on her and every time they argue (about whatever, it's always over nothing), he turns the tables back on her, so she always loses. Since she can't match his supposed contribution to the relationship, she is abused, whether verbally, emotionally, or physically, so she decides to leave on her own. And in the next relationship she gets into a bad relationship, she'll be braver and get out before things get to that point, instead of asking the guy break up with her.

Adele – Take It All Lyrics 15 years ago
Oh and here is the entire song:

Didn't I give it all?
Tried my best,
Gave you everything I had,
Everything and no less,
Didn't I do it right?
Did I let you down?

Maybe you got too used to,
Having me around,
Still, how can you walk away,
From all my tears?
It's gonna be an empty road,
Without me right here,

But go on and take it,
Take it all with you,
Don't look back,
At this crumbling fool,
Just take it all,
With my love,
Take it all,
With my love,

Maybe I should leave,
To help you see,
Nothing is better than this,
And this is everything we need,
So is it over?
Is this really it?
You're giving up so easily,
I thought you loved me more than this,

But go on, go on and take it,
Take it all with you,
Don't look back,
At this crumbling fool,
Just take it all,
With my love,
Take it all,
With my love,

I will change if I must,
Slow it down and bring it home,
I will adjust,
Oh, if only,
If only you knew,
Everything I do is for you,

But go on, go on and take it,
Take it all with you,
Don't look back,
At this crumbling fool,
Just take it,
Take it all with you,
Don't look back,
At this crumbling fool,
Just take it all,
With my love,
Take it all,
With my love,
Take it all,
With my love.

Adele – Take It All Lyrics 15 years ago
Love this song. I think it's pretty straightforward. She gave him everything she had and basically treated him like a king and he dumped her. So basically she is confused why he dumped her and it has left her really destroyed. And she kind of says that he will be sorry that he dumped her because he didn't appreciate her. And she begs him to reconsider and that she will work even harder to make him happy. I love how Adele's songs are relatively simple but the emotions conveyed are so complicated, especially for the # of lyrics she uses.

Adele – Someone Like You Lyrics 15 years ago
This sounds almost, and perhaps this isn't the word I want to use, stalker-ish. And I think it's more of a natural thing when people break up and one isn't ready for it to be over, so they show up and try to make their case. I get this from the part where she says "old friend, why are you so shy?..." He obviously isn't pumped to see her, because he's happy in a new relationship and probably doesn't want to deal with her making the case for a reunion. She says that she probably shouldn't have shown up like that, but she couldn't help it because she was so desperate. She loves him still, so wants him to be happy, but kind of wishes he could have been happy with her. And then to console herself, she says nevermind I'll find someone else like you, but that obviously isn't really a consolation or moving on because she wants that person, who is exactly like him. Her point that she's moved on doesn't really seem very valid. Love is just so complicated!

Rachael Yamagata – The Only Fault Lyrics 17 years ago
GORGEOUS SONG! I think this song is about a clandestine affair that the singer is having with someone who is married or already in a relationship (probably married). I think the singer is really in love with the man she's seeing secretly and he is in love with her too but he can't bring himself to leave his wife/significant other. And I think that this is kind of talking about their last night together.

Oh!! That adds a whole different dimension to this song. But it totally makes sense. It's basically an ultimatum to the closeted boy. They already have a relationship but the closeted boy doesn't want to take it public. So the singer basically says "are you in or out?" and that they should just make up their mind and not treat the singer as a shameful addiction.

Rachael Yamagata – Parade Lyrics 17 years ago
I think this is basically a song about a summer affair (or a whirlwind romance) and the singer is over it. The singer is going back to their everyday life and they don't have time for this romance, and it will never be the same. So the singer is telling their lover to move on.

Mirah – Archipelago Lyrics 17 years ago
I think this basically is about someone who is in love with someone and they don't think the other one loves them back, so they give up on it. Only later they discover that the other person loved them back, I could be wrong but I think that is basically it... Super pretty lyrics though!

Jenny Owen Youngs – Fuck Was I Lyrics 18 years ago
I actually think that this song is about someone still being in love with their ex and how much they really hate it... And they are trying to remain friends with them but it doesn't really work out because it just makes the person angry. I went through the same thing... for a while I hated/loved him even though we were officially "still friends." So when it talks about being such good friends and wishing they could hate them, it totally hits home...

I just found this song a like it a lot. But looking at the lyrics, and hearing the song, I feel that, as a Kansas girl, I must correct the spelling of Tapica. I suspect it is Topeka, capitol of Kansas.

Kate Nash – Foundations Lyrics 18 years ago
Oh and I don't think she is trying to forget something he did, I think it is that she needs to forget about the past and think more about the present situation and see how bad they are together and how unhappy they are. That they really do need to split.

Kate Nash – Foundations Lyrics 18 years ago
I think this song is about how Kate is with this guy, but he drives her absolutely crazy. They don't even particularly care for each other, but they continue to hold onto a relationship that doesn't exist anymore. But because they are in a relationship with someone who they don't particularly like anymore, they continually try to get under the other one's skin because they themselves are frustrated with the whole thing. I've had a couple of friends who have done this type of thing in the past and they all say it was because it was comfortable to be with their significant other, even when they were miserable together. This is also kind of like a divorce song. It seems like this kind of behavior is the common thread in a lot of dissolving marriages. They don't love each other anymore and resent each other.

LOVE the song though!
