| Tool – Hooker with a Penis Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| The brilliance of Maynard lies in that the song IS about capitalism, but it's not like he's going to sing a lecture about capitalism. Saying that Tool is not a political band is simply not true. They may not have songs directly addressing political issues like APC does, but many of MJK's songs are about society and the state of man (Vicarious, The Pot, Right in Two, Aenema). His metaphors are often so deep that it's difficult to extract all of the meaning. Basically, I think Maynard sometimes intentionally writes songs with multiple multiple meanings just to spark conversation like this. | |

I think Chris is saying that after your girlfriend leaves you, sometimes you just need to get really really high and fantasize about somebody you saw on a billboard along the highway. Damn this song is sad. |

| Plain White T's – Hey There Delilah Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
What I like about the song: the music, the refrain What I dislike about the song: everything else Who writes a line like "Even more in love with me you'd fall"? There are other things that rhyme with "all," I promise. But I really can't pretend to nitpick with this song, because really, it's all pretty much written at a seventh grade level. Also, please, enlighten me. What is it, exactly, that Delilah does to him? He apparently decides that he's too emo to let us know. Thanks guy. And all of you who wish your name was Delilah now...ask anyone named Roxanne or Lola or Cecelia or Eileen...it's not that great to have a song with your name in it. Besides, it's not like the guy wrote it for you. So what do you get out of it except everyone you meet singing the song and asking you, "You get that a lot don't you?" Argh. |
