I know that this song is about bush and everything, but i interpreted it as a guy cheated on her and went off with another girl. she's mad, and when she says "It’s a sad sad story when a mother will teach her Daughter that she ought to hate a perfect stranger" she's saying that her mom is even saying it's ok to hate the girl who stole her boyfriend away. and then when it says And how in the world can the words that I said Send somebody so over the edge That they’d write me a letter Sayin’ that I better shut up and sing Or my life will be over" i thought that it meant that she was so sad and hurt that she couldn't do anything and that her record comapny yelled at her to get moving or they would fire her. but the bush thing totally makes sense too. |

I disagree with everyone so far... for most of the song you think that its about an old flame and where they used to live and how much he misses his old life, but the it has a surprise ending. you think that they've broken up, but really they moved out and lived happily ever after together... like they moved into a real home and started a family. "We bought an old house on the Danforth She loves me and her body keeps me warm I'm happy here But this is where we used to live" maybe i'm crazy cause i'm the only one who thinks this, but that was my interpretation. |

| This is the least meaningful of all their songs... but like every other SoCo song, you gotta love it. And everyone can relate. There's someone who I know from wayy back in middle school named Marissa and she HATED me. She brainwashed all my friends, and has recently died her hair blonde... but i still remember her as the brown-haired bitch who had a personal grudge against me. | |
