Sometimes I think he could be talking about us(the fans),i have totally fallen for the idea of him!!! This song sounds like it came so easily,he's an expert now at pinpointing a feeling or moment in time and putting it into words the way no one else could even begin to...i totally agree with thekellerincident,he is at his best when he's doin this. I get the impression he is talking about an old flame or someone he used to be infatuated with and they meet again somehow and the feelings are reignited which is kinda like 'Stolen Away' and 'Aint it funny how time slips away?' I dont think he's talkin about someone much younger at all,i think its someone he loved as a teenager(Just a kid but swear I’m thinking, Wash my mouth out with the table water=hormones!) and maybe it was unrequited(why does he reassure her he's not goin to b immature or hassle her=I’m not gonna pull your hair,I’m not gonna kick you in the shins ). he's tricky with lyrics sometimes so maybe its purposefully ambiguous,watever,i just interpret it my own way and love it! |
