A relationship that didn't end up the way that they wanted to is what this song means to me. Only the two people that this song are the ones that get the "context" of their relationship. Think of it this way, each person has their own context, we get what we do, we get some parts from other people and thats what makes us whole. This song is pretty funny and deep. I think it shows what happens when we leave home and try to live life on our own accord. Whoever is staying at someone's house is definitely not staying a short time as "You know the score, i wouldn't want you sleeping on the floor". It almost seems like someone older is telling them all of this, where there are hard choices to make, you don't know where to fully establish yourself, but there is no true place like home, no matter where you end up. "What's the point of changing face and then Packing boxes moving home again When it's always the same" |

I think it is a way to show that we're destroying the world that we live in and taking advantage of it. From "reflect how they tore this building down you ask for more"is how whatever we're doing has been damaging our surroundings and our never-ending search to find something better than it after we've ravaged it. An interesting mention is the story of Icraus who was told not to fly too close to the sun or the wax on his wings will melt or two low as the moisture will make his wings too heavy too fly. Icraus flew too close to the sun for the feeling of being in heaven was drawing him towards it and plunged to death as his feathers flew off. It seems as we're trying to find a way our heaven in the wrong way and as a consequence, (like the last commenter said), the old roller coaster is falling apart. |
