oh my lord this song got to me. i think the beauty of frou frou/imogen heap is the songs created are so strong, even when they have light musicality. i related this song to my personal situation: look at life and those around you--observing it all makes me want to toss in the towel sometimes on my relationship. like is it all worth it? is this real and even if it is does that matter? |

i also think it's more than "live life to its fullest cause you've only got one"... If this is a question - Is maybe a lie? -If yes doesn't mean it - Does when lessen why? I take this verse [and the rest of the song] as referring to 'i love you'... if yes doesn't mean it [she and person she's singing to doesn't believe the yes] then does the when lessen they why. When will you love instead of Why don't you? And then the song goes onto asking if the decision-maker just says what needs to be said to stop the questions, stop the anger, etc. then would it just be a mask? It sounds like she's dealing with a very confused person who might be scared to be in love or answer the questions regarding love and in a way she's saying don't take out your fear on our relationship because you only have one life to live and you shouldn't waste it on fear. |

i love Frou Frou! i wish they would have made another CD before she went onto her solo career. i'm not really sure what the song means but i can most believe it's about loving someone and waiting for them to realize it or whatever. i think the drug connotations are just metaphors... a way of telling the story... not to be taken literally. |

i dont see this being a depressing song whatsoever. the lyrics are kind of like of strength. like suicides the easy way out... what happened to the idea of change, revolution, and MAKING something happen. i dont think its anything about a relationship really or drugs. maybe it is but i dont see it that way. |

i loved reading everyone's comments on this song. its a beautiful song -- my boyfriend's and my song actually as it sparked our first major conversation and ever since then when it comes up on the ipod we both stop, smile at each other, and remember that first spark. i know, corny and girly, but i think this song, as most sigur ros songs, are meant to have the listener create their own translations. thats what good songs do anyhow -- bring something to the surface and hit somewhere deep inside a listener. to me it brings love forward. overall, this song is absolutely amazing. |
