| U2 – Red Light Lyrics

well, the red light is synonymous with prostitutes, really. And I can't remember the details, but I believe Bono has said that it's something about a prostitute. Kind of reminds me of Roxanne. |

mannn... I think ChristineZaki and aidanx have gret view points on this song. It's my favorite on the album....it breaks my heart whenever I hear it. I do wonder sometimes, though...does Davey really think about all these things when he writes? I mean he is pretty myserious, so I guess...ah, I don't know. |

I don't know...I'm usually the person who doesn't like to connect Davey's lyrics to his personal life, but for me, the song just kind of struck me as his view of how he got into this music- a scene so obviously different from, say, punk. But hey. |

| Aiden – One Love Lyrics

Personally, I really love this song. This is my first introduction to Aiden, really...but anyway, if wiL were saying "beyond humany", it'd most likely be a play on the word humanity. You hear an undeniable "h" sound in there, so I'm going with Beyond Human Aid...which fits the context of the song--when he saw his friend OD, he couldn't help him, for he was too far beyond that stage to go back. But yeah, it's a beautiful song, even though I still scratch my head at the video! |

| Amy Winehouse – Back To Black Lyrics

the penny thing is drug related, but i've forgotten how.
I think you do have to experience some things to write songs like this, but it's not like once you get better, you can never draw on those experinces again. In other words, amy needs to stop playing and clean up.
And anyway--isn't she married to that Blake guy? and don't they have child? |

sterile.stars, you can't tell us that the remix is crazy and then not post a link to the remix. don't tease!=]
I LOVE this song! It does remind me of U2, and I'm a lifelong fan of them. Interpol has always been a good band. |

yeah, Stiff Kittens is the first single, and I think it's abtter one than Bitter for Sweet. At this point, I don't care to interpret it because it's a damn good song to dance to and that's all I want... |

This is one of those songs that you're listening to on the surface, and then it hits you, and you understand it comepletely. Definitely one of my favorites on Santi. |

If I'm in the moment and don't realize that I'm listening to it, i'll listen, But if I'm paying attention, I almost automatically skip past it.
I prefer TAI's newer music to this time...I really think this song sounds pretty unoriginal, like i hear it everyday on those insanely long Fuse commercials for those buy the pound indie bands. |

| The Academy Is... – We've Got a Big Mess on Our Hands Lyrics
| 18 years ago
|
"It's something about a guy who does things that are misunderstood by other people - everything he does is 'awkwardly reversed' to mean something beside what he meant to do, and this happens quite often, hence the 'I always put myself in destructive situations'. "
I agree with this one...but in an even more literal sens, I'm an ambidexrous writer who writes almost soley with my left; and when I do certain things like cutting or handling cartain objects, I'm almost always liable to hurt myself somehow. =]
I think William's just saying he's clumsy in the things he does...and thus, seemingly always has a big mess on his hands(and everyone else's, because they have to step in and help clean up). |

| The Academy Is... – Bulls in Brooklyn Lyrics
| 18 years ago
|
Bulls in Brooklyn came from this: the drummer in The Academy Is...was riding his bike in Brooklyn. Simple. He was riding his bike, and the rhythm came to him on his way. TAI is from Chicago, so they just threw the bulls part in...literally, the drummer was a "Bull" in Brooklyn. In actuality, the drummer himself doesn't even like the Chicago Bulls.
But anyway, I love this song...it's my favorite off of Santi. It's got this self-assured sound to it that i don't think any other band has right now.
I thought pilottogunner05 had a point at first, but I think the paved road line just means that actions and whatnot work both ways; whatever someone does to you, you can do it right back. |
