with that being said - i guess that says it all. But I definitely love I'm Only A Man, and all the other albums they produced as well. I never believed in supporting a band just for a song. Thank god for my mentality. There ain't no point to hearing a song without listening what the band(Emery) has to say. With that, I hope people learn that they have to start changing their mindsets. |

"Wash him clean" for... - The fact that his mouth betrayed him and said "hold on", even when he thought that the river will take them under. (Meaning he is also the one who eventually made them swim in the river.) - The fact that he "said to his friend that he will be saved" yet knowing that it's not true just "by looking at his face". - The fact that after knowing that his friend couldn't be saved, his friend still kept telling him that "it's OK". So, it's just a thought of Guilt that could only be known between him, his friend (who eventually dies) and the river. Wash him clean for all the false hopes that he (and probably his friend) has made made. |

Hmm, I can only see this song in a marriage theme currently. Where someone's telling him about his life, where the marriage is falling apart. "You are so ungrateful, we're more like a house than a home." A house can mean any place with a roof on top, but a home means a place you live with all the relations in it. After which, the man himself starts talking to himself, saying all the things he could possibly say to the wife, but from how I see it he's like two person in one. To justify it, the lyrics: "I work my hands right down to the bone still you don't give me what I want. You are so ungrateful, we're more like a house than a home. *Please dear understand, *I'm sorry again for all that I said. How could you leave? *I swear that I'll be a better man. *Well, go ahead and run, run, run *from the man with the gun in his hand. Darling I would shoot you before I would ever let you leave. *Oh, dear God." The lines with a * and without differentiates the two parts of him. "I'm hollow because I know how to get this done so I will be the only to follow, to follow through with this." One part of him is following the other that's taking control. Other than that, nobody's perfect. That's my best understanding to this song, for now. =] |

I think somehow you can be bound to experience this. Put it this way, if somehow you had a good relationship that soured unexpectedly, those feelings are hard to get over. Usually those feelings are forcefully 'thrown' and 'forgotten' by removing traces of the person and by time. It's like when you once cared over this person, and this person just started crying over the phone asking for your help, it brings so much memories back. It's a heart-wrenching feeling when you knew that you 'never really moved on'. |

I kinda have a different view to this song. It may not be a right hit but, that's just me. It's where you love someone very much but there are too many things in the way between the both of you. I guess it doesn't necessarily have to be say, the girl has a boyfriend, but some responsibility that both of you have is keeping away the feelings at bay. No matter how much you tried to let it go, somehow, the feelings just come back to you. Great song, nontheless. :) |
