I like how so many people refer to "acid" and "LSD" as different drugs. LSD: lysergic acid diethylamide. Acid is LSD, not a hard concept to grasp. Furthermore, Hendrix lived in an era that was extremely different from the world of today. Purple Haze is known today as a potent form of marijuana, but the marijuana of today is much more potent than it was in the '60s. Purple Haze, the marijuana, obtained its namesake from this song, I would assume. The Purple Haze that Hendrix would have known was LSD on purple blotter paper. I hope this erased some ignorance from the lives of...well, the ignorant. |
