this song...first off....is amazing.. it gives me chills everytime i listen to it.. i thought i was cold at first...then i figured out i was wrong... go figure.. :) superchick is amazing..and the lyrics are simple...powerful...and meaningful. i wish i could of been at celebrate freedom to see them live but i had no ride.. :( still an amazing band. i love superchick. :) |

1st off...this song/band is amazing.. 2nd off...to all the pple saying you hate it...plz go comment on some songs you like and stop wasting your time hear..your ruining it for the pple that do love this band and there music. and can we stop obsessing over the trivium/metallica thing... every band does a couple of remakes...or...re-do's or...whatever, so...go get pissed at the other million bands that have. and...theres also another ...bajillion bands that do music similar to metallica... go get pissed at them and not the ones that actually make it sound good. and....to stay on topic...i have to agree with previous posts... i think the songs about pple bringing you down and how you should TURN your back on your enemies.. and live with all the good things you have while they are dying* of jealousy!! :) may not be exactly correct but.. im always up for corrections :) |

like many of us...the line "god is wearing black" gives me chills everytime. :) i have to agree with the majority..because...i think there right. its about a soldier going into a pointless war. god is wearing black...is sad...it shows how the soldiers family feels. he's gone so far to find no hope...also signals a pointless war.. then...he's never going back. this could mean he's dead...or wil die..its hard to tell exactly but. thats what i got from it. ty all...im always up for edits and comments. :) |

OK...first post here. no one can know exactly what the writer of the song was thinking but we sure as hell can guess. :D I think that it is about a relationship. not necessarily a girlfriend boyfriend or husband wife deal but it is a possibility. ill start at the begining... . ~~I know you can't recall anything at all or why were're standing here. The day you figure out your words had crumbled just below your feet.~~ - this could symbolize one of the pple in the relationship being in shock and not remembering...or possibly not even wanting to remember since what that person obviously found out were bad...her "words" that crumbled...possibly 'i love you' maybe?...that was torn apart by what was found out. 2nd...~~This is how a mountain gathers, purposely directed shadows. This sinking ship has information that will tear us a part~~...the mountain could be symbol for all the bad things piling up wich would also help u understand the next part in the verse...the sinking ship has information...the ship may be the relationship he's trying to save...the information could be the reason he purposly directed the shadows....the shadows were meant to hide regrets from his near past that the other person would not like..therefor it may tear the relationship apart. 3rd...~~Along the way we learn things too hard. Whisper out the way to stop my heart. The things you used to say before the day I used to care at all. It's in the fingertips, I caught you looking; hazing down on me~~....learning things too hard...of course...must mean we learn things the hard way but sometimes that not the only way we can learn them...therefor the "hard way" might be too hard sometimes. the wisper out the way to stop my heart.....really confused me here but if i had to guess id say.. it has to do with a relationship being broken through words that could kill him. im really soz but the last part here throws me wayy off...id appreciate it if someone would explain it...or even expand on my theory...its up for edits ty all...and... i hhope this was a good first post! :D |
