Wow I'd never really thought about the meaning of this song before...I always just kind of took it literally, like "Oh it's about a giant spider that eats him, that's cool..." But now I see the deeper meaning. Hoorah! I like how giving it the name "Lullaby" makes it seem like it'll be kinda happy and dreamy and stuff but it's a depressing theme and it's all...eerie sounding...*shivers* |

I think the 'woo-hoo-hoo's are my favorite part of the song. And I think the chorus goes like this: "If I get drunk, well I'll pass out on the floor now baby, and you will bother me no more" ^If he gets drunk just with his buddies he'll do some stupid shit, she'll hear about it and think 'well he's a dumbass...time to move on'... but "But if you're drinkin' then you know that your my friend and I'll say, 'I think I'll have myself a beer'" If the two of em get drunk together...well I'm sure we all know what THAT will lead to. I generally don't like Jack Johnson too much, but this song...it's so wonderful! It kinda reminds me of my ex-best guy friend...in a good way. I could always imagine us doing something like this together. (In a strictly non-sexual way...) It's kind of funny how this song could either be making sex references or it could be a song about spending time together, wasting away a lazy day, not even concerning yourselves with anything like that. |
