| No, I totally agree with you. I'm not sure if it's both people, (Maybe I'm wrong) but I see it as the narrator/singer having been affected by a past relationship and made her heart hard. She meets someone new who is trying to show his love to her but she's still too hurt by her last relationship. Sounds like in the song, her heart slowly starts to melt by this guy who she wants to love but is still afraid to because of her past. Just my two cents :) | |

Omg how can no one comment on this song yet??? This song is so freakin' awesome. I love curve so much. I grew up with them. I think the song is pretty self-explanatory. Just talking about the differences between men and women; how we think and act, and done in a very creative way. I think the song is just that, women who feel self conscious due to their significant others' emotional abuse. They only feel free when their boyfriends are not around or watching them and they feel free to be themselves and express themselves. The only one I don't understand is JonBenet Ramsey. I guess I could understand in a pageant sense, like she is judge by all the makeup and shit her mom put on her to win these things however it still doesn't quite fit since for the whole song she says "But her boyfriend..." JonBenet didn't have a boyfriend...or at least I hope she didn't. O.o; In a weird way the song is uplifting to inspire women in these situations but sad at the same time. Nice work gaga. |

Uh...yes, I agree with the few who have actually noticed; there is Phantom of the Opera references in the song if anyone has ever seen the play. And when you think about it, (again if you have seen the play) it is more of a love song or sensual song. Has nothing to do with a slut. Jeez why does so many ppl have to take something so nice and turn it so negative...? Once again, beautiful song |

I agree with Satakieli. I think its more about a young beggar, orphan, or a boy whose been neglected by his parents or caretaker. The whole song sounds like he's knocking on doors to get some shelter and food during the Christmas holidays (explaining the toy) and everyone's ignoring him and not letting him in. It sounds like he died already and tarja is just singing about how this poor boy died. The streets are empty. Inside it's warm. His hands are shaking. They locked the door. A voice is calling, asking to get in. -He's roaming the streets in search of a place to take him in. He finds a house and the people inside just ignore him and lock the door so he can't get in. All he wanted was a toy. All he needed was a gentle heart to lead him through the dark when his dreams are running wild. -All he wants is a toy and a kind person to take him in. He just wants some place warm to stay. Big family dinner, the untold pain. Their eyes are sparkling on his frozen face. Angel's calling, asking to get in. -He stumbles upon a house where they are having Christmas dinner and enjoying themselves and he's outside freezing and sad because he wishes it were him. (The people's gleeful eyes sparkling on his frozen face) He's asking to come in and still no one listens. (Also explaining the no one saw part) When there's nowhere left to fall, nowhere to hide. The silence is hurting. Inside it's cold. Sleep or die. Nowhere to go, nowhere to hide. His light went out. -This is how he died on the inside and outside. He was left out in the cold and froze and/or starved to death. Maybe he also came from an abusive home and so he has no home to go to and no one outside to let him or care. This is just my opinions. I agree the song is incredibly sad with so much meaning. I cried. :{ |

Omg...the best song by darren hayes ever. My friend was the one who showed me the video and song and I instantly feel in love with it...I feel like this is the best song he's ever done. What I love the most is the fact that the song and video is so dark yet really beautiful...visuals, vocals, everything great :} |
