Much like "Buck up, they're coming," this guy looks around him and sees God's blessing around him. But this time, instead of living in it and appreciating it, he's afraid of losing it. He's afraid that God will bring another storm in his life, disrupt his comfort. This kind of pessimism sucks out the life from him. But the hope of God and what He can do stirs him. Even when all he sees around him is darkness, he doesn't live by this sight but by the faith in the hope that is in Jesus. He knows that God loves him and will draw him back to Him. |

This guy starts out knowing how blessed he is and how good God is, so he takes hold of what he's been given and cherishes it. But he knows that the Christian life isn't always easy and that eventually the storms will come. When the storm does come, he sees it and fears it, but knows the God has something in store for him if only he would face it. He's starting to see that sin is crouching at his doorstep and that he cannot take his eyes off of God if he wants to get through it. |

| It's a story of God throwing him into situations that he can't handle, but knows that he must. He's running away from the doors that God is opening, but knows that it's the Lords will that prevails. He goes along in fear and tries to hold on tight, but knows that in himself he can't do it. He then fully gives up. He set out with such a large mission, but now that he's seen the cost he wants to go back to a comfortable life instead of this one. | |

| I loved this song when I first started listening to it (before the lyrics were ever circulated) and I always thought that he was saying "can't end my love for you," and at the time I was with a girlfriend and it kind of made sense. Around the time we broke up, I found out that he was saying "killing my love for you" and it made me love the song that much more... some singers have the talent of making a few words sounds like completely different ones. | |

I think this song is about a guy who was in a long distance relationship with somebody, only to find that she was lying about everything. "Always in my thoughts you are Always in my dreams you are I've got your voice on tape I've got your spirit in a photograph Always out of reach you are" The guy is alone and thinking about her, seeing all the old pics and watching all the old videos, but no matter how hard he tries, he can't be with her physically. "Cold inside my arms you are Simple like a child you are I remember when you took my hand And led me through the rain Down inside my soul you are" Although he remembers all the good times with her and why he loves her the way he does, she begins to change. The person that he knows and holds onto is no longer her and is becoming a cold person. But no matter how hard he tries, again, he cannot let go of her either. "Mother lost her looks for you Father never wanted you I trust to love and then I find You never really felt the same Something in your heart so cruel" He talks to his loved ones about the situation, but despite their advice, takes a leap of faith and tried to chase her, only to find she no longer loves him. "The more I show the way I feel the less I find you give a damn The more I get to know the less I find that I understand" The more he shows his love, the more she refuses him. His friends who have been with her tell him what has actually been going on - how she talk bad about him to others, but pretended to love him anyways "Innocent the time we spent forgot to mention we're good friends I thought it was the start of something beautiful- now think again Now, because of this, they're no longer friends at all. What he thought was really going somewhere was actually nothing. That crap happened to me, and this song really appealed to me then... just my take on it! |
