I take offense to desterado's bigoted comment about Spanish. But that aside, Spanish is my first language and i don't think her accent is that bad. I think the words are distorted in order to fit the rhythm of the song. It literally translates as "Leave it alone, Our Thing." Although someone wouldn't necessarily use that grammar in a regular conversation, i wouldnt say that it is bad grammar, it is just said in a more poetic way. Also i think that people should stop bitching about the fact that this album is a different from their previous work. If all artists always kept the exact same style for all of their albums fans would get bored and stop listening. why are people asking for an extension of the older albums, when a whole new album is a better, fresher experience. It's as if people had asked Picasso to keep painting in the same style all his life, when in fact he went through many different periods of styles, and is what made him the great artist we of today. Besides if you have been listening to Rilo Kiley since their Initial Friend EP you would see that they haven't been keeping the same style, but tweaking it for each new album. This is a great album. period. |
