To me frank blank went metaphysical on us in a mystic way. He may be refering to his soul or eternal being and that presently it is not it comfort area. It sounds like he wishes to be with nature, and is ashamed of a being a human who lives as a very new and unatural being....all of his songs give off a mystic vibe to me. |

I think this song along with most of his others covers a much broader and larger concept than what we deal with on a daily or regular basis. unless you're someone wack like Black Francis who entertains himself with thoughts of bizarre mysticism and outerspace. |

I'm pretty sure that his lyrics tend to stem far deeper than our interpretations. I realy don't think this song is just about t his little story he threw together about some dude whose mother is also his grandmother. I'm sure its biblical or mythilogical, and I'm pretty sure there's some crazy reason that he decided to sing about it. |

I think that with a mixture of Shannon's born character and influences he picked up along his way he gained a certain preternatural understanding and thought process of life, and at the same time he was more attuned with true nature than most people. I can't say what this song means. From what I've read about the way he would put together his lyrics it might mean a number of things. But like many other songs of his, this song, line from line, sounds like he payed attention to things that most people don't. |

I've had this feeling for a while that Isaac is one of those people who knows stuff that he can't fully explain. Something like some intangible metaphysical shit, which is why alot of his lyrics aren't focused on women or jobs or whatever other musicians typically sing about....maybe. Just a thought. |
