um AlvinIsSoCool I'm not sure about the lust and love thing. maybe it works if you suppose that's what they stand for, but what the hell do a lemon tree and lust have in common?? and the problem with love is never that you can't see it; it's either you wish you had it, you wish you didn't or you're happy to have it. never that you can't SEE it. i think its just a guy fooled by a girl he asked out for a date; and she hasn't come up. (sitting on a lemon tree i'm a waiting for you) I think the bit about the toy and everything will happen and you'll wonder is because as he waits in vain for her arrival and seethes, he seeks a sort of revenge: he'll get hinself a random chick (=toy) and they will fuck and then she'll be pissed and jealous about it and regret not having come to his date. so Gingerfox i agree with you; altho I would like to point out that she's probably not his hirlfriend; just some girl he got all worked up on and now he realises that she doesnt care bout him so now he considers her to be a "toy" just the one he's gonna go for next. but in fact she isn't a toy, and thats what depresses him: he is the toy cos he's waiting for his date and she's tricked him. kyeager10 i also agree with about from the desert of joy bit... i think that "desert of joy" is the osrt of expression that uses opposites, like saying "horribly attractive" you know? a desert has nothing, let alone joy. so maybe this one only has joy, or maybe it's ironic... not really sure. anyway this song isincredible it's everlasting there are always new people listening to it and discovering it thats whats amazing its not like "a song from the 90s" its a song that will always be there. |

| ok regb i totally agree with you. i was trying to make out the link between the wall and the relationship, i hadnt quite got it and you shed just the light that I needed. and personally i completely agree with stupid name, Eleanor Put Your Boots On is better then this one. i find this one is quite but somehow i find that the singer's voice is not quite fit for singing soft songs... it's the piano in Eleanor that's really amazing. fade together is a song that i find too blurry somehow.. it goes with the theme but it doesnt make the song exeptional | |

| don't really understand these lyrics... there isn't much connection between the different things Matt talks about; although each line in itself would be great if it were developped. dont you think so? the hard metal parts are a pity! i find the piano that u can hear most of the time creates a really nice atmosphere that is destroyed when the bluntness of the metal bits come in... its as if muse had to put a bit of their usual style to stop critics saying "muse is changing its style!" especially after supermassive black hole, wich is oredy quite difrent. but starlight is still one of the greatest songs ever made! i'm criticising but it's the song with the highest play count on my i pod so i guess i had better shut up and enjoy the music... | |

awesome song once you realise what what anthony is saying on every single line... i found it hard to understand everything just by listening at first. i think the "got stopped by a lady cop In my automobile" should have 'automobile spelled hot-o-mobile tho. isnt ther a pun on the word? i thought so... "like a ram gettin ready to jam the lamb"=amazinnng rhyme and rythm are perfect! ram=battering ram meaning his cock jam=fill up the hole under her crotch meaning fucking her lamb=affectionate term for the lady and makes contrast between the frailness of the lamb and what she is just about to be fucked by! conclusion: anthony kiedis is psycho sexy even when he composes lyrics!! and a genius... |
