| Feist – The Circle Married The Line Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
I love it because there are so many meanings (and I think they are all meant to be there) First the circle and line representing two people who are quite different. I would think of the line as a rigid male character and the circle is a more flexible female. But then also: Second I thought it might be referring to sex (think about it....) Feist often has references to sex and it would be cute to be saying everything is alright when it's morning or evening and we have sex. Third I realised the whole sun setting/rising on the horizon thing. Basically she's on some sort of sea-side sojourn and 'following signs', she takes the sign of the circle meeting the line on the horizon, as meaning that she and her lover are meant to be together despite their differences. |

| Feist – Undiscovered First Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| It's like... the possible future of their relationship is like a great big undiscovered mountain. She doesn't know what's ahead and whether she wants it. | |

I find it really hard to tell that the guys are singing 'a commotion' It must be mixed somehow, coz to me it sounds like the last syllable they sing ends with the 'sh' sound... tres confusing. |

lol I wish more people had a go at the song meaning instead of just telling us they love it! Anyway. I am really not sure what this one is about, seems maybe a woman who is in therapy after a break up? |

I've also heard that this song is about a prostitute. This fits with hearing "she loves" after the lines in the chorus, where meggwtw mentions above. So then the chorus is her working through the night: sea lion woman she loves, she drinks coffee, she loves, she drinks tea, she loves, and a rooster crows when it's morning and she stops work. The verses are just sort of about the different ways such a woman can make money.... (i don't think i've explained myself well but it's late) |

| Little Birdy – Six months in a leaky boat Lyrics | 18 years ago |

soozib, I think it's actually "round the horn"; referring to Cape Horn, the southern tip of South America. It is renowned for its storms and dangerous seas, which makes more sense in terms of "if you dare". Now that you can go through Panama Canal, taking the route around the continent is both incredibly foolhardy and quite an achievement, coloquially referred to among sailors as "going round the horn". Also, that's what it sounds more like to me ;) |
