I think this song is about a girl who was in so much pain that she decided to try to end it all, and shes dying, and shes realizing that she commited a huge sin, and doesnt want to go to hell. I dont think that the mentioning of being in her grave means shes dead, I think that the two lines "Barely cold in her grave barely warm in my bed" Mean that she should be dead to him, but he cant stop thinking of her, and hes alive in his own mind, and he doesnt think she thinks of him like he thinks of her. |

I think this song is about someone who might not be the most beautiful, delicate thing in the world, but wants so bad to find Love. I sense a longing and a loneliness in the lyrics and the music. The song is kind of open, kind of vulnerable feeling. I think she is trying to say she has a loving heart, and its not fair that people who have empty hearts can find love because they are beautiful. Just like the story of the ugly duckling, the "Swanheart" title means they have a beautiful heart. But, this song is so beautiful, and I usually dont like slow nightwish song as much as fast ones, I think the point of this song is that beauty ultimately comes from within, but there are too many people that are fickle and only judge from exterior. |

I agree that the songs written for the album fit together, and it seems to go back and forth between different memories and their present time. I think that Bless the child starts out in present time, after loosing a love, I think the album tells the story of two people who felt like they had lost all hope, and were nothing at all. They found each other and were happy, then something went wrong, and they still both have feelings for each other, but think the other doesnt. Bless the child takes place after everything has happened, after the whole album has happened. It kind of describes these two people, and leads into the next song that shows you the beginning where they meet, fall in love, lose each other, then they still feel for eachother, and they kind of tell each other, but I think in the end, its too late. So, I think the line "why am I loved, only when Im gone" signifies that we dont really realize what we have till we dont have it anymore "Think of me long enough to make a memory" Is kind of saying all thats left is memories, and you cant hold a memory or kiss it, or do anything but think of it. the "Bless the child" part is saying to let her get on with her life, the child is her when she is new, forgetting past pain, and by blessing it, he will let her go. |

I think this song is about a man who has a passion for something, and it might not be a passion for a continent, but sometimes things you love can be built up in your mind to be as important as a country. But he also loves something else, he has to choose between two things he is very passionate about, and love very much. I think he knows what would happen if he chose the thing that "africa" stands for but if he chooses the "woman" then he doesnt know what will happen in his life, and he he doesnt know what to do because this relationship with this woman may not last, but africa will always be there, hence "hurry boy, its waiting there for you" means africa stays, and will be there if something goes wrong. I think in the song, he chooses the new, exciting thing, knowing the other will always be there for him when he needs to go back to it. |

I Love this song, it always brings me close to tears. My perception is that this song is talking about a past love, a "ghost" love, that she has never forgotten. I think that maybe, it was her first love, something that everyone usually always remembers, first love. And it was true love, at least on her side, so great that she would do anything to keep it, and she would be devestated if it ended, hence "if you be the one to cut me I'll bleed forever" I think, she is thinking of all the memories of this love, she was close to finally getting over it, and something made her remember it: "A siren from the deep came to me Sang my name my longing Still I write my songs about that dream of mine Worth everything I may ever be" I think the siren is the memory, and is made her long for the love she once had, and she still dreams of being with him again one day, because this love was precious. "The Child will be born again That siren carried him to me First of them true loves Singing on the shoulders of an angel Without care for love n` loss" The child is the new woman, trying to put all the pieces back together after the devestating end to a great love, and the child has to be reborn because she has to get over the pain all over again. Anyway, this song is beautiful, and it really makes me think of how preciuous love is, and how it can hurt really bad at times. |

I really think this song isnt about a woman OR a man who has a past for seducing many people. I think this song is about a man who is closed off, trying to protect himself from the sins of the world, and he meets a woman who brings out the animal in him. It makes him feel sinful, and the sin isnt just lust for her, but a sin against himself. |

At first, when I heard this song, I thought of Romeo and Juliet, ACT III, scene V, and it reminded me of how Juliet wants it to stay dark outside so that Romeo doesnt have to leave. But, after thinking about how the lyrics say "Sleeping weeping with you" and the song is called "Sleeping sun" So, it sounds like shes talking to someone, not the sun, but someone she loves but cant be with. Its almost as if she is the moon, and he is the sun, and sun and moon cant be together because when the sun goes down, the moon comes up, so she wishes the sun and the moon can go down together. |
