| Sonata Arctica – Letter To Dana Lyrics

Well, well, all of you have done excellent with your interpretations - there is no need to keep on. The song is awesome because it truly evokes sadness and yearning. I suggest you listen to SA's remake of such song named Letter to Dana (Return to Sender), it's just as great. It has the sadness and the yearning, but there is a heavy ambience of darkness behind the song, everything sounds very mature this time around. The song is included in their Ecliptica (Remastered) album; a Slience (Remastered) album will come out as well and it will contain Wolf and Raven remake, which by the way in slow-paced, but beautifully haunting. |

Silence can many times provoke different feelings - from boredom to serenity. In this case, silence is an inspiration, only few are worthy of its true potential. |

| Sonata Arctica – The Rest of the Sun Belongs to Me Lyrics

I think this song is about some troubled love. A man is interested in a girl, but the girl is only interested in another guy, thus, sadness and a sense of rage take over (its evident in the singer's tone). The sun is the girl and the sea is the guy she is interested in. The sad man begs for the winter (remorse, pain, etc.) to take care of the sea, but he tells winter to leave the sun alone with no feelings for the sea, hence the title. Kind of reminds of San Sebastian (in terms of metaphor). I hope this meaning helps - great song! |
