My opinion is that Bush is a bad president., and that America and the world would be better of with a new one. But the loads of crap Pink managed to get into this irritating song amazes me. Some points of irritation: 1. How do you sleep while the rest of us cry Yeah right, it's the world versus mr. Bush... Positioning him against the rest of the people is unfair, as a lot of people agree with mr. Bush. It's just a wrong argument, it's not the truth. The real world has thousands of different opinions about how to govern a country. There is no mass that cries and one man that is not weeping. It also portrais Bush as a person that has no feelings about the matters depicted in the song. As much as I disagree with Bush in certain matters, that's a rather silly thing to state. 2. You don't know nothing about hard work. As said by others, he does. Governing America is hard work. Denying that is wrong. 3. What kind of father would take his own daughter's rights away. I'm assuming that Pink means abortion laws. Correct me if I'm wrong about that. This is also a load of preassuming bullcrap. The mere fact that a group of people (Bush including) disagree about the right of a woman to have an abortion has nothing to do with denying rights to our children. For example, we also don't say we deny our children the right to kill people. We say that people in general should not kill. Has nothing to do with our direct offpspring. Abortion is subject to different views, and that's fine by me. 4. What kind of father might hate his own daugther if she were gay? Congratulations Pink, you just accused someone that he 'might' hate his daugther in the circumstance that she is gay. Based upon... well, based upon what exactly Pink ? On the fact that Bush disagrees on gay marriages ? Is that equivalent to hating gay people ? Quite a statement to make. Some people don't agree on gay marriages based upon religious thoughts. That, however, doesn't mean that they hate gay people. How small-minded to think such a thing ! All in all, I find the song uses false arguments and says some pretty nasty things that aren't fair. It's ok if you find Bush a failure as a president, but if you write a song of protest, at least use some arguments that count. Not this kind of sentimental narrow-minded blabla. |
