| Simple Plan – When I'm Gone Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Is this sentence: 'Life is what happens While you're busy making your excuses' a parody on John Lennon's 'Life is what happens While you're busy making other plans'? If it is, I don't like it :) |

What?? Has no one commented on this masterpiece of music and poetry? Well, nevermind, this song means a lot to me. This person is giving all to a girl that doesn't give anything back to him.. Unrequited love? Very common x) Whatever Great song. |

| The Almost – Dirty and Left Out Lyrics | 18 years ago |

I've left earlier, than you'll ever know: it seems like he wants to say that he sinned and stopped being free from sins or something I think and maybe it's just a reference to the title 'Dirty and left out': he's left out? I really love this song, even though I'm not all into Christianity, it's just pretty.. http://music.aol.com/popeater/2007/10/04/the-almost-bring-southern-weather-to-new-york/ does anyone know what he's singing at 1:22 ? hmz |

| Ted Leo and the Pharmacists – Better Dead Than Lead Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Ow, I just thought this person was in love with someone. And because he's in love, this girl seems perfect (gold) in his mind, but all the others are telling them she's not (lead). In the end he realises that everyone was right and he was just living in a dream. Or something like that. I dunno, but I'm probably wrong. |

| As I Lay Dying – Illusion Lyrics | 18 years ago |

I think everybody's right. But some people can be wrong too. I have accepted the fact that it's about God, though at the same time it has to be a little bit more complicated than that. I mean, do you speak about God like this: I never want to leave your arms so i wait in hope for your embrace illusions of what i thought was love ? Okay, I do agree it might be a metaphor or such, but still, there has to be a reason why he makes it sound like it's about love, as in love for a girlfriend, or friend, whatever, everything but God. And I also think, that some of you should be a little more accepting. It's not like there's only one meaning or solution, we all see things in a different way. We're not searching the meaning this song has to the band, anyway, I'm still answering the question; What does this song mean to you? (Though quite off-topic now. er.) My thoughts about this song are rather divided. I guess that beyond everything it's about God, but if you watch more closely, there has to be a relationship on his mind. Or something like that. x |

| Placebo – English Summer Rain Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I've fallen in love with this one. I always thought it was about depression: "always stays the same, nothing ever changes" and the rain might even symbolize tears falling down from heaven. He's in the basement (he's down) and the person he loves is in the sky (very happy) and he just wants him/her to comfort him and be with him for a while. I even considered the thought of suicide in the song, with the 'hold your breath and count to ten, fall apart and start again' thing, like trying to kill yourself but knowing it won't work 'cause of reflexes or something? Nah I really liked thebluesbass' opinion about this song, never thought about it that way, this could be about WW2. x) |
