I think this song is about how us in the Christian community can be "good monsters". Our motives and hearts may be pure, but we are dead, bored in our faith; we do not stand up for Christ and thus all the noise we make, all the talk about what we want to do for God is in vain, if we don't actually DO it. We try to be just like the world, like everyone else (all the monsters), hiding ourselves to look just like them. We blindly believe that we are good little Christians ("We are so in love with ourselves"), yet we are just really the same as the world that we made ourselves apart of. |

Not completely sure, but I think this song is about Moses trusting in God to give him strength and carry him through his trials in leading the Israelites out of Egypt. They made this song for the Prince of Egypt soundtrack. |
