The song is about earlier wars like WWII, the whole idea that he's holding a pic of his lover back home while he fights the war in the sea. Then he gets killed, that's pretty depressing. I still love this song though |

I have to agree witht he war comments. Of course the song could also be about how western society in general is invading the middle east (Western society being countries like the US, Canada, the UK etc.) because in the middle east they don't really differenciate between those countries, but the song is probably mostly about pointless wars |
