I think it's pretty much a convenience relationship. and a lesbian one at that, if you've seen the video, even though Martina (lead singer) isn't gay. She can't help dropping in to this other girl's house because it's so easy to get to ("seconds from you elevator from the station, how can i resist that kind of invitation") even though she kinda regrets it afta and knows that she shouldnt be doing it "I say yes, wen i ought to say no"). Finally, the casual relationship is a secret. They know each other's friends but feel they must keep their relationship private ("I know your friends and ou know mine too, you don't tell on me I won't tel on u"). |

yer some of u guys are right. I saw an interview with the shinys and they mentiond a club that they went to called "Le Disko". Also, I'd like to think that the song is about lesbianism - is Carah gay does any1 know?? |

wow ur interpretations r pretty deep. I think we'v established it's about Jackie Kennedy, but what's the relevance of her baby? i'm not American and don't exactly know anything about American history. But then again it's also about JFK's death (eg. where it mentions 1963). |

i don't understand where everyone is gettin the "break-up" interpretation of this song from!!! how can that be, i think the chorus is so happy about having fun and partying. how's that about a break up?? and can anyone tell me who (carah/chad) sings the part: "don't cry out, cease fire"? |
