another one of Anthony's lyrics which can have soooo many meanings...... drugs, or purely music, or maybe we're all wrong, and he meant it to mean something else completely........ but I'm starting to think that his lyrics, like in this song, have such a dual nature, because that's exactly how he feels about a particular issue, like relating music and drugs, and writing a song like this which kinda works perfectly on both grounds...... and so very cryptic, you don't really know when he actually means something and when he's written something that sounds so awesome, but doesn't really have a meaning to him.......he's SOOO SMART dude, i feel like a moron whenever i think of all the literary devices he uses.........
and Flea....... many people argue that the bass in this song is really simple and stuff. I know it is, but it still takes a guy with the prowess of Flea to some up with a line that's so simple yet so raw and kinda heart wrenching (for me atleast)......GOD, the Chilis RULE!!..... totally agree that this song is NOT hapy or positive or uplifting.... an aeroplane works perfectly for music and drugs, i think, because while they make you soar, they have the power to crash and bring you down with tremendous force, which i guess makes sense for Anthony.......anyone else get the chills during the "just one note" part??? |

This song was made for me, cause I'm a lazy butthole. Totally agree on the "Pluto" album thing, anyone want to start a petition????? The Chilis should know about this,cause every single b-side i've heard from the SA era is so awesome. The only reason I can think of for them not making the album, is that many of them sound similar or like continuations of the singles and while such continuity is awesome on a single, it's not appreciated on a whole album. |

This is another one of so many perfect examples of why I think Anthony Kiedis is one of the most smart and intelligent and clever and all of that stuff, people EVER. This song perfectly expresses my frustration at how fucked up our world is and how incredibly stupid we, the "intelligent race", can behave. But it gives me consolation by saying: there's a reason for this dude. Seriously AWESOME. And Flea is fuckin' MAGIC on this song, specially the chorus......BRILLIANT!!! |
