Yeah, I also think the song is about these who blend in with society ("they do the dance"), giving up their freedom ("throw all the beauty away") for a safe and boring life, KNOWING they are paying a lot for this safety ("and salute the safest thing, bought with their lives"). But nevertheless they "cry and socialize"... Well, that applies for most of us, I suppose. |
