Quietdrive – Afterall Lyrics 17 years ago
So I can't help but think they sound a lot like Ludo in some of their songs off this new CD. Especially on this song, and Daddy's Little Girl. It's not a bad thing, it's just different, and not really what I'd want from Quietdrive.

Brand New – Play Crack the Sky Lyrics 18 years ago
I do love this song. My only problem with it is that the truth is you really do need water in your lungs. Every person has a little bit of water lining their lungs and it's this water that allows the lung to contract again after taking a breath. I know it's not the point of the song, but it's all I can think of when I listen to this song and how water really is necessary in the lungs. Anyways, my biology lesson is done. I still enjoy the song a lot like all brand new.

Broken Sunday – Revelation Lyrics 18 years ago
It's really sad nobody has commented on this band yet. They are truly a talented group of guys. This song holds a very special meaning to me, as it's the song I listened to over and over after my ex-girlfriend broke up with me. For me, it means caring about a person who is everything you could want so much that you tried to do everything you could to make that person happy and it simply wasn't enough. I would have loved to just have her say to me, You truly are an incredible guy. It just wasn't meant to be. It took a little bit of time, but eventually the words "Or just let me know to let go and I'll be fine" to apply, but I've finally been able to move on for the most part. This song is simply incredible.

Oh, and if you ever have a chance to see broken sunday live, take it because they sound even better live.

The Wedding – Fireworks Lyrics 18 years ago
It's about someone struggling to get over a girl that meant a lot to him. The singer is reminding him that for the most part, nobody cares that you don't have a girlfriend, and that all that you have now is time and that you need to make the most of it. This means a little more to me today than ever being the Fourth of July and all and still struggling to get over a girl 7 months later...

"Pull it together boy you don't look so well and you got nothing but time to kill" Love it and trying to live it.

Amber Pacific – Fall Back Into My Life Lyrics 18 years ago
This is a great song that I'm sure many people who've ever had someone they care deeply about break up with them and want that person back can easily relate to. I myself can definitely relate to the lines "So leave a little note for me behind
I swear I have to know the reasons why
This won't survive" because the reasons she gave for breaking up with me weren't applicable anymore so I wrote her asking her why it wouldn't work, and she replied that she didn't know why it mattered, just that it was over. That just wasn't good enough though, because you simply need a reason. Now, it turns out she broke up with me because I'm too immature around others which didn't exactly make me feel better, but it did force me take a look at my life and mature, so I guess it helped in a way, though it still isn't easy being without her. At least I can know that she made me become a better person and mature, though it isn't exactly easy saying good-bye to adolescence (that's a completely different type of music though-I'd recommend Black Dresses by The Spill Canvas if you can relate to that.)

The Spill Canvas – The Dutch Courage Lyrics 18 years ago
This song is good like all Spill Canvas songs. I'm surprised there aren't more comments on it. To me, it seems to be someone is trying to point out to a friend that they've become so wrapped up in what others think about them that they are letting others decide who they are. (You're full up to the brim with that he said she said trash)

The chorus is the singer daring this person to quit listening to these people and to stop traveling the path that's being taken by this person where the only escape for this person is to get drunk and to do drugs.

The next verse is the singer being exasperated over this person's unwillingness to change and to just accept the life he or she is living.

I see the part "We were born and raised the same way so what gives you the right to say" to be the person who is having this song to them replying "who are you to tell me how to live? We were the same at one time."

The singer then replies "At least I'm not a liar
At least I'm not a cheat
At least I don't care what these god damn mindless people think of me" Or basically, say what you want of me, but at least I don't let others decide who I am.

The person can only say now "we were born and raised the same" now, almost as if he's saying "we were the same at one time, perhaps I can still change just like you changed." I feel as if the singer got through to this person and made them realize that maybe there is still hope for them and they don't need to care what others think. That's just my take on it though. Sorry for the poor grammar. It's late and I don't care about English all that much.

As a side note, I googled Dutch courage, and found it's courage gained by drinking alcohol, or being drunk basically. So, as far as I can tell, the only way this person the song is about can find the courage to go on living the life that he's leading is to drink to cover up the lie he's leading, which makes me think it may also equally be a plea for this person to stop drinking along with caring about what others think.
