The song IS about a friend of his who was raped by a pastor, and the pastor used the church system to cover it up. That's what I've found anyways. |

The video showed one person doing either coke or heroin, and another getting drunk, not about suicide or cutting. However, it is definetly saying don't just stay quiet. |

I can see the rape thing, it definetly sends shivers down my spine thinking about that. Especially with the title of the song and after watching the video, it could also make me think of either rape or child abuse. Both make me cringe. The title makes me think it could be talking about perversion within the church maybe, since the couple that put the girl in that "cell" look like old time stereotypical Christians. That's just my view though. Either way, it's an intense meaning song to me. |

I rememered. When he's asking if he can scream out of tune, I think that he means that he doesn't just want to mindlessly follow people into just being a normal "Christian", he wants to be different and "scream out of tune" from everyone else. |

I've thought about the society one, but I think that it would be more about the struggles of being Christian, especially with the line "it's just me waiting for the sun to come out". I did have an idea of what I though screaming out of tune meant....but I lost it and it's hard to gather thoughts listening to Blindside. |

I love this song, it reminds me of, while I'm here on Earth, that I have so much that God wants me to do, and that I shouldn't be held back by anything that gets me away from God and what he wants me to do. |

I think that the "Count on nothing" is really "All or Nothing". It also makes more sense with all or nothing. |

I agree with Nagamori except for the line "conscience comes before the fall." Although his idea works, I think that to better fit the context of the song, he's using to say how whenever these abortion doctors begin to think and use their conscience, then comes "the fall", when they realise that they've been killing innocent lives. |

I'm sorry, but it bugs me when a admittingly Christian band's music is written off as something that's "open to your interpretation". Although, yes, music does speak to people in different ways, I still believe that there's a certain context that needs to be taken into account. Such as, if the band is Christian, then there songs where they talk about love are more than likely about their love of Christ. I wouldn't say a RHCP song is about God, even if it talked about the love of a father or something, because you can obviosuly tell that they're not Christian. |

Good song, sounds like when you first become Christian and how you're asking for the sin/death within you to be killed. Also, there's a verse in the bible that says "For you died, and your life is now hiden in Christ with God." (Colossians 3:3) That's how I take it to mean. |

| Seventh Day Slumber – Missing pages Lyrics

This is not a hard song. The first line describes how on the outside this person looks and acts fine, but how they're in pain inside. They describe that feeling of loneliness as being "missing pages in a magazine", which is pretty cool. The chorus is self-explanitory, and it's actually a really sad song. |

Abortion is murder. Although you're right kayla1991, factually the baby isn't "breathing" inside of you (not that I know of), it is still a human being, and nobody should be able to play God what baby lives and dies. |

| Norma Jean – Memphis Will Be Laid To Rest Lyrics

this song definetly, to me, is about people "dancing" with sin (doing the waltz with your murderer) and giving sin open room in (lower your defenses) leads to death, since the wages of sin are death. "Mediocrity is the killer" is pretty self-explanitory, being mediocre, especially in your relationship with Christ, will result in the "death", or at least deterioration in your relationship with him. "Christ is not a fashion, fleeting away", besides being one of the most awesome lines I've ever heard, is about how following Christ isn't just some kind of fad and how it's a real, life-changing and very serious decision. I think that when Aaron comes in he describes the relationship with the sin, personifying it as a woman, which makes it easier to relate to. Since he also later mentions "We painted crooked lines, but we danced in
perfect time to a love so much refined we know not what it is until like a dullen wine we
pour into a grief we'd know before, but never quite like this" Is about how the sin is fun and fulfilling at first, but how later on it just brought on greif and remorse, and the last line makes me think of the temptation he faces with that old sin. I'm open to hear others though. |

It's good, but I have a question (don't freak out because I bring religion into this), but I know that Jesse was/(is) a Christian, and the lines
"will you rise or become a SLAVE
to self righteousness"
Would being a slave to self-righteousness be a good or bad thing in this song, since in the Bible you're either slaves to sin or self-righteousness, so I was just wondering which one would be better here. I'm personally going with the "self-righteousness" |
