| The Wonder Years – My Life As a Pigeon Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
The 7 inch line is one of my favorites on the record. Basically, it's about how kids were really into them when they just had EPs like Won't be Pathetic or Get Stoked! and with the success/semi-fame that The Upsides brought them, a lot of kids started get self-righteous (ie; "I've known the wonder years since they just had get stoked...") and claiming that none of their new stuff is as good as their old stuff and I think that really hurt Soupy. |

| The Gaslight Anthem – Bring It On Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| "the cool" are the words that the guy she cheated on the narrarator with made her go to him and leave the narrarator. that's why the line is followed with "if it's better than my love..." he's challenging ("bring it on") if what the new guy is saying/providing for her is better than what the narrarator gave her. | |
| The Gaslight Anthem – Bring It On Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| this song hits too close to home. i cry everytime i hear it. | |
| Crime in Stereo – For Exes Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| "I'll even let you pick the records we play" gives me the chills everytime. | |
| Crime in Stereo – Love Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| this songs gets me everytime. "God send cigarettes and purpose to guide this life." | |
| The Gaslight Anthem – Wherefore Art Thou, Elvis? Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
i dont think this song is about relationships as much as everyone thinks it is. also, the line "never felt, and never fit in" I definitely do not think is about not caring about someone. It's saying that he never felt like he fit in because he was difference with "old man shoes and his scientist heart." hallelujah is by leonard cohen, jeff buckley covered it. when i saw them in DC, I was front row and Brian forget the "its a minor chord fall..." line and just sang the "ba" in the background and the whole crowd was singing the background but I sang the verse and he noticed and pointed at me and remembered me from when i met him before the show! |

| Fall Out Boy – She's My Winona Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
"Then came a baby boy with long eyelashes Daddy said you gotta show the world the thunder The thunder, the thunder, the thunder" That was written a long while ago, I don't know how long though. I read it in his journal. |
|
| Fall Out Boy – Headfirst Slide Into Cooperstown on a Bad Bet Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| A lot of these lyrics are or are versions of stuff he has written over the years in his journals. | |
| Hey Monday – How You Love Me Now Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Anyone who days they are nothing like Paramore, they are wrong. They are just a watered down version of Paramore and yet another band wearing tight as can be jeans and Glamour Kills with a short whick with two toned hair. If you have seen the 'Homecoming' video, there are scenes that are exactly the same from several Paramore videos. This is Pete Wentz's reaction to be jealous that he did not "discover" Paramore. And as we know, everything Pete touches turns to copper; and I used to be a HUGE fall out boy fan. |

| The Academy Is... – After the Last Midtown Show Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Midton was Gabe Saporta's (Cobra Starship) old, amazing band. 100 times better than Cobra btw. I think this song is possibly about connecting breaking up/losing someone to losing your favorite band. The 'We're almost here again' part made me sad. I was such a big fan of Almost Here. |
|
| The Academy Is... – Coppertone Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I think this song is about drinking, sleeping around and cheating while in Highschool. | |
| The Academy Is... – Crowded Room Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| So far, I've been dissapointed by this album. They said that fans of Almost Here would like it and I loved almost here, didn't like Santi and I am not a fan of this album so far. | |

| The Used – The Bird and the Worm Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| the instrumentals maybe remind you of a dark panic but the lyrics are horrible. Its feels like "oh, lets make up a metaphor so stupid that everyone thinks it is brilliant!" | |
| Fall Out Boy – Hum Hallelujah Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I am almost 100% sure this is about Peter's OD and how he is feeling about all this. On the outside, he seems to be enjoiying it but on the inside, he seems to be hating it as reflected in many of the songs. It's all a game of this or that Now verses then Better off against worse for wear [They have a lot of choices to make in the music industry. One thing could break them, one thing could make them. The 'better off' would make their music rocket or 'worse for wear' they could be still 5 tired boys in a broken van.] And you're someone Who knows someone Who knows someone I once knew And I just want to be a part of this [i think this may be talking to old fall out boy fans, saying how they 'used to know him' and how he used to be and he just wants to be the old pete again.] The road outside my house Is paved with good intentions Hired a construction crew 'Cause it's hell on the engine [he's saying that everything he does may have good intentions but it ends up all wrong, hence the construscion crew he wants to 'smooth everything out'] And you are the dreamer And we are the dream I could write it better Than you ever felt it [Peter realizing that his lyrics have really helped people through really hard times and they have always dreamt of feeling like they're not alone and are understood. He's saying that he can put into words what others have felt.] So hum hallelujah Just off the key of reason I thought I loved you It was just how you looked in the light [Hum Hallelujah was the song Peter was listening to when he OD'd 2 years ago. He's saying that he knows over dosing was 'just out of reason' but he did it anyways. He thought he loved the pills but at the time they seemed like the only answer.] A teenage vow in a parking lot "Til tonight do us part" I sing the blues And swallow them too [I think he said once he had just bought a copy of TTTYG from Best Buy so maybe, he was saying good bye to the boys. He OD'd in a Best buy parking lot. swallow the blues refers to swallowing pills] My words are my faith to hell With a good name A remix of your guts, Your insides x-rayed And one day we'll get nostalgic for disaster We're a bull, your ears are just a china shop [he's saying that some of the stuff he sings may send himto hell or has raised hell. the guts & insides refers to seeing how people really truly are inside. one day, maybe they wont care if FOB goes to hell. Bull/china shop refers to them wrecking havok and making attention i think.] I love you in the same way There's a chapel in a hospital One foot in your bedroom And one foot out the door Sometimes we take chances Sometimes we take pills I could write it better Than you ever felt it [I do not know that the chapel thing means but the pills/chances is pretty obvious. They took a big chance by signing to a major lable & b/c of it, Pete took pills.] |
