| Blondie – Call Me Lyrics

The song is loosely about the theme of American Gigolo, in which the gigolo played by Richard Gere is accused of murder, and his, uh, "client," a wealthy, older high society woman played by Lauren Hutton, gives him an alibi at the cost of her reputation because she is in love with him. |

Yes, it is about addiction. The third point on the triangle is the drug. From the POV of the protagonist, he is competing with a drug for his lover's affection. His lover tries to kick the addiction, but repeatedly "falls" back into it. And hey, why do so many here think the song is about a guy and a girl? This is such a personal song, it's hard to believe he's not singing about his own experience, and his experiences would be with MEN. |

Lyrics aside, this is my favorite new dance song in many, many years...I haven't given much thought to what it means at this point... |

Something different/all the girls they seem to like you/cause you're handsome/like to talk and a whole lotta fun.
Pretty much describes the gay guys I was friends with in high school, when we kinda knew they were gay but maybe weren't too sure.
And yeah, the line about the wedding is pretty clear too.
Brilliant song, brilliant band, LOVE THEM. |
