Okay! From my experience, this could be about being in love with a girl who is already in a relationship. She loves him back, and she's torn between the man who she is in the relationship with and the man who she had ended up loving aswell. The two have found themselves in a predicament, for instance they realised their mutual feelings and something occured due to them, causing the girl to become unfaithful to her boyfriend. He knows it's killing her, because she is so in love with her partner and him, so he does what he has to do. If he removes himself from the picture, she can be happy in their relationship. It's a painful thing to do, but in the long run it must be worth it. It must be easier to live with knowing that the person you love is happy and getting on with their life, rather than knowing that you could be the cause of them having to leave someone they love so dearly. yeah.. depressing, ne? But it is impossible to be in love with two people at once. If you truley love someone, they are everything and anything that you will ever need. When you love someone for their positives and their flaws, what could possibly lead you to think someone else is better than them? XD OKAY. i'm done with my little depressed and waffled message. :] There's my view! XD |

Is about when he and his wife got a divorce, hence the part about the ring.. it's actually quite sad, because it seems he was actually a really family orientated man. The name 'secondhand serenade' came from his wife, because he used to write songs for her, and she called them his serenades. They're secondhand because they where written for her, she heard them, and then passed on to us. I think he has two or three children? So it's quite sad that their familly has split - especially since he sound so remorseful about it. But I guess you can't change what happens, right? :] I really love how personal this song is... He has so much emotion in all of his songs and they just make me tingle ^w^ xx |

I agree with boomslang, tbh! But I don't necissarily think it's just about dancing.. I could be about anything, but the word 'dance' fits so well into the song, cause that's just what it makes you want to do! Dance! Dance! Dance! XD I think it's like this: He really likes this girl, and he's a good dancer. Y'know, talented. And he's showing off, all trying to impress her, and then she just goes and makes a MASSIVE mistake and is like "Will you teach my boyfriend to dance like that?" And obviously, he's prossibly thinking that no, because that is one thing that he knows for certain that he has that this guy doesn't. And he's kind of hurt that instead of just noticing how awesome he looks doing all these moves, all she can think about is how awesome her boyfriend would look doing them. Taking note of what xRosex said, when he's saying "You are the girl, I've been dreaming of. Ever since, I was a little girl." - I think that he's saying this because he used to have them girlish fantasies of finding the perfect girl. :] It's so catchy! They use this song behind a Suite Life advert on Disney Channel, which my little brother watches all the time, and cause Disney Channel doesn't have normal adverts, it has it's own, it's on like, every 15 minutes! And I'm just like, running behind the sofa with the hoover or the ironing board, whatever I happen to be doing at the time, and i'm just like "WOO! DANCE! DANCE! DANCE! DANCE! TBH." XD It's brilliant. These guys are my INSPIRATION for my Music Technology course. They can half drop some awesome beats. XD My take on the song was pretty much the same as everybody elses, but I also like Romy05s take! That also makes PERFECT sense. But nobody says it louder than DeltaSunlight. This song is ACE. She's describing how she felt while she was going through chemo, or when she came out of an operation due to her cancer. "But who's that calling out my name, anyway?" It's like, if you never have had to undergo an operation, when you see people on TV and they aren't awake but they squeeze their hands or flutter their eyelids or something, then I think it's when she's in that state. And somebodys calling her name because they've seen her move, but she can't verbally respond, so she's getting frustrated and "trying not to be jaded". it's an amazing song about what she went through. It was a while ago, though. I remember making a get well soon card for her when I was 9! Lol :] |

They remind me so much of Saosin it's unbeleivable xD Not the vocalist.. or the lyrics tbh.. Just the melody. :P They use similar guitar rifts. This is one of them songs that I listen to once, and think, whoa this is awesome, then I listen to the lyrics more and it actually gave me goosebumps! :P Tis just pure amazing. :) And yeah, it's about like, he loves the guys and his band and all, but when they start getting irritable with each other he knows he just has to bite his tounge and not say anything xD So yeah. somehow, i feel intrusive trying to explain this song. it doesnt feel right. the guys just lost a close friend and spilled all of his feelings to the world in under 5 minuites, in possibly the most amazing song ever. it's so personal, & i'll listen to it over and over and still get shivers and tear up! Amazing song albeit depressing, but it's comforting to know, if Matt and everyone else can survive this kind of grief, then so can we. I respect his courage, because the feelings he is discribing is exactly what pushes people over the edge. |
