| Brand New – Sink Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
This is mostly correct I think. I don't want to let you go But it hurts my hands to hold the rope I won't be such an easy mark You're no better than this, sailor! And all the candles on the cake All set fire to the gate Turn the cannons towards the boat Men were drowning in the moat It was the end of all the rowers' hope If you call then I'm coming to get you If you call then I'm coming, now If you call then I'm coming to get you You want to sink, so I'm gonna let you All I want is some earth and seed But only grow the things I need But first I must find my way back And you go lay down on the track At youth I had an even keel But now I'm not sure what is real It's taken me this long to learn That every dead is ate by worms And once they're gone they don't return If you call then I'm coming to get you If you call then I'm coming now If you call then I'm coming to get you You want to sink, so I'm gonna let you drown I'm coming to get you If you call then I'm coming to get you If you call then I'm coming to get you You want to sink, so I'm gonna let you Drown the fire that snuck into your bedroom Now I'm falling asleep to forget you How darkly the dark hand met his end He was withered and bony, exposed for a phoney But we heed the last words that he penned Hast to disgrace the traitor. Do not wait till later I don't think that you've got to pretend I see God in birds and Satan in long words But I know what you need in a friend So now when I leave you, I hope I won't see you How darkly the dark hand met his end He was withered and boney, exposed for a phoney But we heed the last words that he penned Hast to disgrace the traitor. Do not wait till later If you call then I'm coming to get you If you call then I'm coming now If you call then I'm coming to get you You want to sink, so I'm gonna let you drown I'm coming to get you If you call then I'm coming, now If you call then I'm coming to get you You want to sink, so I'm gonna let you Drown the fire that snuck into your bedroom Now I'm falling asleep to forget you |

| Right Away, Great Captain! – Right Away, Great Captain! Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
Right away great captain I'll go where you need me The banks of the north shore The hills I'll go fleeting Just give me a minute to tell my wife goodbye I love her so dearly but its time to take real flight On a dark desert road Or the middle sized fake show you lead me to, it’s so dark in there Right away great captain I’ll surely leave everything God blessed I love you But God you mean more to me Than any three hole punched fake scripture could come from me Just know that I love you But love's such a simile For pearl gates of gold I will do my best to meet you there half way Or the whole way On a high way you know Where the ending will take place so beautifully So beautifully So beautifully Right away great captain I’ll go where you want me to Don't make it much harder Than what I have gone through If you've got your systems I’ll tear down these walls You haven't seen devils ‘till you've seen them all You've got to be strong Well I’ll take you back, if you want me to On a highway you know I will do my best to meet you there So please don't leave me Please don't leave Please don't leave I wish you'd say please don't leave me And I wish you'd say please don't leave me And I wish you'd say please don't leave me, me And I wish you'd say please don't leave me And I wish you'd say please don't leave me But darling I am leaving Yeah I’m leaving |

| Brand New – Limousine Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I'm pretty sure it's "Kay, here's your ride" ... "Kay" being short for Katie. | |
| Brand New – Limousine Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| They are not 100% correct but I wouldn't go as far as to say they are "sooo WROONNG!" | |
| Brand New – Limousine Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
The song is about Katie Flynn and she was 7 years old when she died. I think the counting refers to 2 other things too. The 7 deadly sins. And at the end he says the 7 loves you so much 3 times... 777 (God). |

| John Lennon – God Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
This is a brilliant song. I can listen to it over and over. You would imagine the repetitiveness of the song itself would get boring, let alone listening to it over and over again. to justlivenow. Why must there be something that put us here? Using that very logic, there must have been something that put the thing that put us here. If you can believe in an eternal god, why can't you believe in an eternal universe? |

| Air Traffic – Charlotte Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Correct Lyrics: Don’t cry Let it pass You By I’ll be by your side Each and everyday Let go You gotta lose control Teach you how to roll Never be the same oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh Cause I'm wasted My face down on the floor Can’t take anymore I gave it all away And lately I can't find her eyes Help me realize That I'm in love I'm in love I'm in love Losing, I’m losing all my faith But I can’t stand the days That I’m Alone Tell me do you feel the same And are you glad I came Can I walk you home? oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh Cause I'm wasted My face down on the floor Can’t take anymore I gave it all away And lately I can't find her eyes Help me realize That I'm in love I'm in love I'm in love Your face my place Your face my place Your face my place at night |

| The Subways – Move to Newlyn Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Correct Lyrics: I'm gonna move to Newlyn Find the light inside of me Sell the Irish Sea to Dublin What will life ever make of me? I see the kids play in the street In their world so happily My cousin Rick, he still believes There's a world he's yet to see Carry on or fade away Eventually there comes a day We all see we are the same Different things we choose to say But what will you say? I'm gonna hitch up to Glasgow Learn all the tricks that are ought to know An open book is still a mystery So what will life ever make of me? I see the kids play in the street In their world so happily My cousin Rick, he still believes There's a world he's yet to see Carry on or fade away Eventually there comes a day We all see we are the same Different things we choose to say But what will you say? Over and down, through hills and towns In sunshine and rain No holding back, Relief in that I'll never feel the same I'll go my own way I see the kids play in the street In their world so happily My cousin Rick, he still believes There's a world he's yet to see Carry on or fade away Eventually there comes a day We all see we are the same Different things we choose to say But what will you say? |

| Hard-Fi – Television Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
I disagree... I think this song is about how Television takes over your life. "Life means nothing, when no one knows your name I never had too much but I'd give it all for fame Baby, baby" Here he is talking about what TV makes you believe. TV makes you believe that Life means nothing if you are not famous, and people would give anything for fame. "She's there on the TV, so beautiful on screen Selling me a life I've never known and never seen Baby, baby" TV tells you how life should be lived. "Television, new religion, let everyone sing Hallelujah Politicians, don't wanna listen, they only wanna make money out of you Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah" This is pretty straight forward. Television is the new way of life, new religion. We do what it tells us to do. And the "Politicians"/government don't care about you, only want to make money out of you. "Newspaper headlines, I can't believe my eyes No tales of war and destruction, but who said what last night On the TV, well it could be me" He can't believe how they put things that don't matter on newspapers instead of things that do. What Britney said last night is irrelevant, personally, I agree, I really don't care about celebrity life. But instead of the wars going on and all of the important issues, they tell us about celebrity life. Perhaps they are trying to get our mind of what is really going on. "Through the shop window it's a widescreen world But I can't afford a thing and I never get the girl, It ain't easy, no it ain't easy" Widescreen world is referring to a widescreen Television. He can't afford the things on TV and he never gets the girl on TV (The perfect girl), but TV tells him that he must get her. "If I only had you, If I only had you If I only had you, If I only had" TV makes him believe everything will be perfect if he just had the girl. Perhaps the Happy endings on movies. "You know we always want something But somehow we end up with nothing nothing" We don't (not in all cases :P ) get the things we see on TV. Life is not like Television, although we believe it to be because it's our(new generation) religion. We wear what they wear, we look like they look and we live like they live. TV sets the norm. Great song. |

| The Kooks – Always Where I Need to Be Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| The album version's lyrics are very different | |
| The Libertines – Can't Stand Me Now Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
I am sure the lyrics are "No, you've got it the wrong way round You shot me up and blamed it on the brown Cornered the boy, kicked out at the world The world kicked back A lot fuckin' harder" "You shut me up and blamed it on the ground" - That sounds right untill you listen to the other words... he clearly says "Shot me up" and "Blamed it on the brown"... Which would actually make sense... They refer to brown in a lot of there songs which is slang for heroin |

| Babyshambles – Carry On Up The Morning Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
lol... its about drug adiction and carl... the song that i got on the album is pretty different to these lyrics... here's the version i have ---- In the morning where does all the pain go The same place the fame goes straight to your head Ah, its not easy getting it out my head It wasn't easy getting out of bed So much shame on the workman who blames his tools Then so the saying goes so it's said The way you tease me, tease me out of my head Ah, its not easy forgetting what you said I know you used to be into me Now you've got it in for me In the morning where does all the pain go The same place the fame goes straight to your head It wasn't easy getting you out of my head Ah, it's too easy getting out of my head Given up trying to explain I'll just put it in a song instead Ah, it's not easy getting out of bed Its too easy getting out of my head I know where to find, where to find you my love At the same old place by the river, the only way in is through the window, is through the window --- "The way you tease me, tease me out of my head" i petes talking about how carl introduced him to drugs, and then suddenly took it away from him (or tried atleast) |

| The Killers – Daddy's Eyes Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I'll tell you what you wanna know But boy, you better listen close. People gonna tell you lies Don't let it comes as a surprise. That woman's on my back again. I know she's got the best intentions But you began to realize You know, got your daddy's eyes. And there's something I wanna say: I love her too. And all of this has got nothing to do with you. And I'd like to stay but I can't because I've been fooling around And I know that you're cold because you never even knew that it was hurting me When you put it on the other hand. You're old enough to understand That glove will bring it all to life I didn't say that made it right. Cause that woman's on my back again. I know she's got the best intentions When you began to realize You know, got your daddy's eyes. And theres something I wanna say: I love her too. And all of this has got nothing to do with you. And I'd like to stay but I can't because I've been fooling around And I know that you're cold because you never even knew that it was hurting me And I'd like to stay but I can't because I've been fooling around And I know that you're cold because you never even knew that it was hurting me And sometimes we forget time, And I woke up a little too late to life But dreams should last a long time But this is not what I'd call goodbye And I'd like to stay but I can't because I've been fooling around And I know that you're cold because you never even knew that it was hurting me And I'd like to stay but I can't because I've been fooling around And I know that you're cold because you never even knew that it was hurting me Me... I love her too... .... hmmm i think those are the lyrics... im sure he says "And I know that you're cold because you never even knew that it was hurting me" |

| Plain White T's – Leavin' Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
the lyrics are wrong... You're doing it again you know Sometimes I don't even know who you are And I don't think you know how bad it hurts 'Cause you don't have to see the scars If you knew how bad you made me feel You'd never do a thing like this again But if it's just a game you're playing I don't think I'll make it to the end 'Cause I don't think I'd last that long Baby, I'm not that strong So if you care about me You've got to stop acting this way Or I'm leavin today I'll say goodbye to my favourite face Don't want to go, but I just can't stay And be treated, I won't be treated this way At times I think I love you and at times I know I've finally found the one But it's times like this that make me feel The game of love has only just begun You know I'd never leave, but making threats To you could be the only way I love everything about you But when I'm in doubt Then something's got to change 'Cause I don't think I'd last that long Baby, I'm not that strong So if you care about me You've got to stop acting this way Or I'm leavin today I'll say goodbye to my favourite face Don't want to go, but I just can't stay And be treated, I won't be treated this way 'Cause I don't think I'd last that long Baby, I'm not that strong So if you care about me You've got to stop acting this way Or I'm leavin today I'll say goodbye to my favourite face Don't want to go, but I just can't stay And be treated, I won't be treated this way Or I'm leavin today I'll say goodbye to my favourite face Don't want to go, but I just can't stay And be treated, I won't be treated this way Or I'm leavin today I'll say goodbye to my favourite face Don't want to go, but I just can't stay And be treated, I won't be treated this way |
