My Morning Jacket – Lay Low Lyrics 15 years ago
I thought it was pretty clear in that he tries to convince her that if she stays at home with him that he is just as good as any drug or drink.

He wants her to be sincere with him, hence he says "It's always good when I get to see that there's never more than what you're telling me when you stay, home."

"Got no lack of disease" sounds right.

In least credited, I meant that he isn't given enough credit...

How creepy, but in a good way. I love the wale (spell check that) of his voice. This has to be one of my favs because its so deep and also expresses his great vocals. I see JJ as being one of the least credited vocalist around today, but who cares as long as we keep being pleased with great songs like this.

Band of Horses – No One's Gonna Love You Lyrics 16 years ago
One more thing...

"But someone,
They could have warned you..."

There again, sounds like he is talking to a close friend or loved one trying to console them in the fact that it wasn't their fault for what happened, because someone could have warned them...

"But someone
They should have warned you..."

Here, I think he tries harder to console them in that he says they "should" have warned this mysterious person about something that was happening right under their eyes...

Overall, this is NOT a wedding song...Sorry!

Why does he refer to "They" several times during the song? I think he is singing more about loving a friend than some romantic interstest. He talks about that person's problems outside of a relationship he had with them no matter what that relationship was...

"And anything to make you smile
It is my better side of you to admire
But they should never take so long
Just to be over then back to another one"

Sounds like he is trying to console someone who was cheated on...

"Anything to make you smile
You are the ever-living ghost of what once was
I never want to hear you say
That you'd be better off
Or you liked it that way"

Undoubtedly he is dealing with someone who regrets a decision or even wished they were not alive or either they feel they would be better off where they were at in life...

Sorry...one last post...Previous lyrics come from the 7/15/87 show, so there are obvious differences, but you can get the gist depending on which version you listen to.

Over sixteen, under thirty-one
Over sixteen, under thirty-one
Over sixteen, under thirty-one
Your face looks good, but your body's not ready
Face looks good, but your body not ready
If life was a thing that money could buy {"All My Trials" folk song}
The rich would live,
And the poor would die, I can't stand it, no!
No I can't stand it, no!
If life was a thing that money could buy
The rich would live, the poor would die,
I can't stand it, no!
I can't stand it, no!

Well I get up every morning about 10:13
Six pack of stout, and a stick of sensi
Watch TV, watch TV, watcha my window if the TV's broke
I can't stand it, yeah!
I can't stand it, yeah!
I can't stand it, yeah,
I can't stand it, uh huh

Life was a thing that money could buy
The rich would live, and the poor would die,
I can't stand it-no!
I can't stand it!-no!
Arleen was a dream what a dream
Arleen was a dream what a dream
Arleen was a dream what a dream
Arleen was a dream what a dream

Get up in the morning about 10:13
Six pack of stout, and stick of sensi,
I can't stand it yeah
I can't stand it, oh yeah

I get up every morning bout 10:13
Eat fried chicken throw away the bones,
Everybody leaving my good home,
I can't stand it, yeah!

I can't stand it, yeah!

Over sixteen, under thirty-one

That little girl's gotta go to school today,
I can't stand it, no no no no
I can't stand it, no!
No no no I can't stand it!
That little girl's gotta go to school today,
I can't stand to see her play that way,
I can't stand it, no!
I can't stand it, no!

Look at my window about 11:15
Nothing's left but me,
I can't stand it,
I can't stand it,
Sixteen gone away..
Sixteen gone away....
Me and Mrs. Jones......
Me and Mrs. Jones......

If life was a thing that money could buy
The rich would live, and the poor would die,
I can't stand it, no!
No I can't stand it, no!
Life was a thing that money could buy
The rich would live, the poor would die, I can't stand it no!
I can't stand it, no!

Why does a poor man drink champagne,
He drinks half a beer and feel all the same,
I can't stand it, no!
I can't stand it, no!
Why does a middle man drink champagne,
He drinks half a beer and feels all the same,
I can't stand it, no!
I can't stand it, no!
Why does a billionaire drink champagne,
He drinks half a beer and feels all the same,

I am beginning to wonder if some people using this site actually are Panic fans...

Live lyrics are sometimes manipulated, but these are definently more clear than those above...Where do some people get ideas for these lyrics...For real...Go visit EverydayCompanion.com if you want to know the REAL lyrics, or just go to a few live shows and actually listen to what JB says.

Widespread Panic – Action Man Lyrics 17 years ago
The following are the official lyrics of the song...According to EverydayCompanion.com

Willie said "he was the mostest horse"
Mahubah, Fair Play, desert mama's boy
Running in first, neither proud nor cursed
Carries the weight like a child takes to its toy

Side by side, souls of kind, different world
Hearts of gold, limbs of steel, Man-Of-War

Oh, place your bets boys, get out the gate in time
Burn the books, you ain't seen nothin' yet
Maybe back at that old Kentucky home
That it was luck, we'll catch him if we can

Fire inside, blaze of glory, space in time
Heart of gold, limbs of steel, Man-Of-War

Oh, Saratoga
Graveyard of favorites
Odds are more than one hundred
Oh, Willie said
Ooo, Saratoga

Nowhere, nowhere to run
War Admiral take the highest prize
Three hundred thirty-nine little children
Workin' the rail, never, never look back

Fire inside, blaze of glory, space in time
Heart of gold, limbs of steel, Man-Of-War

Side by side, souls of kind, different world
Heart of gold, bones of steel, Man-Of-War
