As a possible correction to the line: "I wish I was the full moon shining off a Camaro's hood." In the Single Video Theory (Recorded during the Yield studio sessions) video for Wishlist, about a minute and a half into the video, it has handwritten lyrics showing up on screen written as "I wish I was a FOOL moon shining off YOUR Camaro's hood." Perhaps those were the original words in during the sessions, and Eddie changed them later. You can look it up on Youtube. |

I'm seeing it similarly to barrigirl. I think it's about loving your best friend, and having the feeling they might feel the same way. Only I see this coming from the best friend's perspective. Like her (I use her, b/c I'm one of the minority male fans of Eisley) way of saying "I love you too." "If I'm wondering, then you'll show me." - She already knows how he feels, b/c he shows her all the time. "And I thought that I had all that, that I wanted. But, boy, was I wrong. As for you, now I know." - The realization of her feelings for him comes to her. "If the moon shines on you while you're sleeping, it will show you all that I'm feeling." - Her unsaid answer to his unasked question. As usual on here, interpretations come from personal experience. |

It reminds me, however bittersweetly, of my wife. Especially where he says I dreamed you, a sin and a VOW" Where originally it had been "a sin and a lie" Gavin's voice shows the depth of emotion in this song. Beautifully painful. | |

I'm with vampire-cullen on this one. The first verse sounds as if it's from the point of view of a minority (black?) right before the desegregation. Familiar faces (whites everywhere) always trying to be ahead of everyone, better than everyone, and never wanting to change how they are, because they're so single-minded. The second verse is from the black child's p.o.v. after the desegregation. Imagine being one of the first black kids to be allowed to go to a "White" school. Especially if you're in grade school. (1st, 2nd grade) Excited about learning, but the teacher just treats you like your garbage because of your ethnicity. As for the chorus, just from both p.o.v., thinking how terrible it is that it had to come to this in the first place, and how fucked the world is for not being more understanding. |

Oh yeah, Think of this from the point of "Bobby", like he's the one singing it, and my theory makes more sense. And to add an opinion, The Joss Stone cover of this song was great. Alright, I think this song is about a GUY falling in love with another chick. Not considering it cheating could come from just kissing. The girl knows he likes her, asks him to kiss her, and he's cool because it's "Just kissing" The second verse, first off, no idea what the hell "mellow roll for the flavor" means, but after that, I think it deals with his delimma (sic) of trying to stay faithful, but wanting to be with the red head. The new girl's just bored, and messes with him because she can. "Said it once before, but it bears repeating now." Like she's done this kind of thing before. My interpretation. No lesbians. No band theories. No opinions of the song, band, album, just what I think it means. |

First of all, go to their website's "disks" section, look up the song. It'll conclude any theory's you have about the lyrics. As far as meaning, no clue, I jump around from band to band from time to time, so I don't get too attached to a band. But, they and Joss Stone are my current faves, Joss because her version of "Fell in Love with a Girl" Straight something off the zip line. |

this song was played at Benoit's tribute. - deeewooh Glad I'm not the only one that noticed that. Maybe forgotten by some "Rasslin'" fans is that this was also a tribute to HHH when he had his first knee surgery. Actually seems surprising to me that I'm the only one that thought this was about a friend in the service, going to war. "His face seemed pulled and tense."-reference to the physic of soldiers. "It doesn't look the same up on the rack."-looking possibly at an Army portrait, completely different than the man they're used to seeing. "Nothing's changed, but the surrounding bullshit, that has grown." Possibly an on going war, but the man is still the same. "Before his first step, he's off again."-obviously, talking about his friend going to war. The greatest thing about PJ lyrics are the way they can always be open for interpretation.. |
